Needles, CA: The 9th Annual Jimmy Taylor “Beat The Heat” Softball Tournament was held late last night to raise money to help Melody Yeager and Nancy Yoney who are both battling Cancer.
Many answered the call to help Melody Yeager and Nancy Yoney who are outstanding members of the Needles, California community well eating some great tasty hot dogs and burgers as well as getting to play some softball into the next morning.
Many from as far as Riverside, California, Barstow, California, and Bullhead City, Arizona came on down to participate in this family fun event.
The softball tournament event started at 6:00pm PT on Friday night and ended with a softball team from Barstow, California winning over a softball team from Bullhead City, Arizona at around 4:00am PT Saturday morning.
Money collected from the softball tournament will go to help both Melody Yeager and Nancy Yoney in these tough times.
It was a great turnout and a great time for everybody who attended.

Needles, CA: During Tuesday’s Needles City Council Meeting, the Needles City Council voted unanimously to name the new baseball field at Duke Watkins Park on J Street in Needles, California the Pete Rodriguez III, IV, and V Memorial Field – The 3 Pete’s.
Pete Rodriguez III, Pete Rodriguez IV, and Pete Rodriguez V were known as caring, loving, and respectful members of the Needles, California family; Pete Rodriguez III use to work for the City of Needles working hard to help his community, Pete Rodriguez IV worked in construction and loved his wonderful family, and Pete Rodriguez V loved baseball, and was a good student at school.
The “3 Pete’s” were loved by many around the Colorado River Tri-State area and now can be remember also and forever will bringing the community together for a great game of baseball.
Needles, CA: At last Wednesday’s Special Board of Hospital Trustees Meeting, the Board of Hospital Trustees members voted 3 to 1 to approve the recommendations by the Hospital Sale Ad-Hoc Committee approving the Asset Purchase Agreement with the City of Needles and Colorado River Medical Center to AM Pharmacy.
Three of the Board of Hospital Trustees Members Suzanne Shepherd, Terri Anderson, and Rudy Zamora voted in favor of AM Pharmacy, but Board of Hospital Trustees President Jeff Williams voted against AM Pharmacy with concerns regarding the hiring back employees at the Colorado River Medical Center after the buyer takes over the hospital.
The resolution will now go to the Needles City Council in two weeks for the final vote to buy the Colorado River Medical Center in Needles, California.
The Needles City Council Meeting is held on a Tuesday at 6:00pm PT and is located off of J Street before Bailey Avenue in Needles, California.

Needles, CA: As work crews clean up the mess caused by a motel fire in Needles, California, An arrest in a motel fire in was announced during Tuesday’s Needles City Council Meeting.
On Wednesday, June 13th, 2012, a 2 alarm fire striked the office area of a motel in Needles, California.
The fire happed Wednesday morning at the Days Inn and Suite Motel located at 1215 Hospitality Lane in Needles California.
During the Needles City Council Meeting held on Tuesday, June 26th, 2012, San Bernardino County Fire Department Division Chief John Salvate was giving the San Bernardino County Fire Department Administrative Monthly Report for May 2012 and gave an update on the Days Inn and Suite motel fire.
According to San Bernardino County Fire Department Division Chief John Salvate, the motel fire was arson and a person was arrested.
No detail or updates regarding the Days Inn and Suite motel fire has been sent into ZachNews.
But sources who were there on the day of the motel fire have told ZachNews that the motel fire was caused by an electrical fire and wasn’t arson.
ZachNews has sent an information request regarding the Days Inn and Suite motel fire to both the San Bernardino County Fire Department and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officers and is awaiting an email with an update.
The Days Inn and Suite Motel in Needles, California will be closed until further notice.
