Needles Economic Development Corporation charges for comments and nonprofit organizations.

Needles, CA- Needles Economic Development Corporation charges for comments and nonprofit organizations- Pictures- Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013

Needles, CA: Needles Economic Development Corporation charges for comments and nonprofit organizations.
The Needles Economic Development Corporation is asking you to pay up or hush up under the new order of control at the  Needles Economic Development Corporation.
Thanks to several local businesses and public, ZachNews was alerted to a news story in the Needles Desert Star talking about Needles Economic Development Corporation approving the annual dues of $100.00 for businesses and individuals, and $50.00 for nonprofit organizations.
It may not sound much to those in the group, but for those small local businesses who are trying to survive in a town that have seen more closures then openings, $100.00 means a lot to those small businesses. As for nonprofit organizations, that $50.00 can better be used for helping to provide services and emergency assistance to those in the local community.
But, what got people’s attention is what was said in the Wednesday, April 24th, 2013 newspaper from the Needles Desert Star.

According to the Needles Desert Star by Reporter Jennifer Denevan, “Only paying members will get to vote on matters and give input. Non-members, those who don’t pay the dues, may attend but can’t vote or give input on items to be voted on by the NEDC.”
What was welcoming before and demanding by members of the Needles Economic Development Corporation is no longed wanted and is only for those who can afford to pay and become a member. Getting public input was always talked about and was welcomed before for the public in the community have the power to grow their community they say.

But, some members of the Needles Economic Development Corporation would rant about the public and say that those in the community don’t care and don’t want to get involved in committees like the Needles Economic Development Corporation or in the community because they only want to complaint and spared rumors.
Those who complaint about the public are still members of the Needles City Council and have expressed their frustration during pass Needles Economic Development Corporation meetings held inside the Bureau Of Land Management Needles Field Office.

Those members of the Needles City Council would say that people of our community who, “don’t go to Needles City Council Meetings, don’t watch the local public access channel, or read the newspaper, don’t care about their community and just want to complaint and blame the City.”
Needles Economic Development Corporation is reportedly a nonprofit group and registered as a 501(c)(3) organization.

Needles Economic Development Corporation’s purpose community improvement, neighborhood development, and capacity building.

In the pass, members of the Needles Economic Development Corporation worked on projects such as sponsoring a grant program for additional murals in the City of Needles, helping to add Route 66 stenciling along the historic and world famous Route 66, hosted guest speaker events for local businesses which talked about jobs and how the County of San Bernardino can help local businesses, and was a sponsor of the Needles Music, Brews and BBQ last October 2012.

This new rate price, which will be effective as of Monday, July 1st, 2013, is part of the changes happening to the Needles Economic Development Corporation under Needles Economic Development Corporation President Paul Stubler who is the General Manager for News West Publishing which is a division of Brehm Communications and publishes the Laughlin Times, Laughlin Entertainer, and the Needles Desert Star.

**** Community Comments: ****

How do you feel about the new rate price for becoming a member of the Needles Economic Development Corporation?

Should the public be allowed to have an input regarding items, projects, or events from the Needles Economic Development Corporation without having to pay a membership fine?

Please write your comments this issue on ZachNews and thank you for participating.
