According to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) website, mill and overlay the existing asphalt is being done and is being done in and near Needles, California on Interstate 40 from Buzzard Wash to the California State Line. The construction project began on Thursday, March 7th, 2013 and estimate completion date is set for Monday, May 19th, 2014.

Breaking News!!: Needles, CA: Documents signed and escrow closes on Colorado River Medical Center Friday.

At today’s special Board of Hospital Trustees and Needles City Council meeting, members voted to approve the Resolution No. 2013-20 approving a Second Amendment to Asset Purchase Agreement by and among the City of Needles and Needles Municipal Hospital aka Colorado River Medical Center and Community Healthcare Partner Inc. and authorizing and directing other actions to effectuate the “Initial Closing” on the sale of Needles Municipal Hospital.

The signing of the documents lead the way for escrow to closes on Friday for the sale of Colorado River Medical Center and estimated $2.2 million dollars will be paid to the City of Needles and immediately released upon the completion of subject transaction.

Those in the attended congratulated Bing Lum of Community Healthcare Partner Inc. for hanging in this long to buy the hospital.

Needles, CA: A Board of Hospital Trustees Meeting and a special meeting of the Board of Hospital Trustees and Needles City Council will be held on Thursday, May 30th, 2013 inside the Needles City Council Chambers located on J Street near Bailey Avenue in Needles, California.

The Board of Hospital Trustees Meeting will start at 4:00pm PT followed by a special meeting of the Board of Hospital Trustees and Needles City Council starting at 4:15pm PT.

Needles, CA: Community comes together for a Memorial Day ceremony at the Needles Riverview Cemetery.

The community of coming together on Monday for a Memorial Day ceremony at the Needles Riverview Cemetery to give thanks and remember all the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces as well as to give thanks and remember all the men and women in law enforcement well protecting and serving their community.

The community was welcomed into Needles Riverview Cemetery decorated in red, white, and blue and in flowers by wonderful and hard working volunteers from the community.

Memorial Day ceremony began with the United States of America flag was presented by members of the Needles Scout Troop 58 and the Fort Mojave Tribal Veterans Color Guard.

The reading names of the men and women who both died while serving in the United States Armed Forces and who served in law enforcement was read ending with the crowd giving thanks for their service and putting their lives on the line to protect our community and our country.

As the United States of America flag stood at half mast, a gun salute by the Fort Mojave Tribal Veterans was held as David Countwright played the Taps well.

As the Memorial Day ceremony draw to a close, those who served in the United States Armed Forces and live in our community were asked to come up and as theses great and brave people stood proudly around the United States of America flag, Fat Cat D.J. and Memorial Day ceremony organizer Natalie Johnson leads a wonderful and emotional performance of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the U.S.A” as the community gave thanks for their served to their country and putting their lives so we can all live free and safe.

At the end of the Memorial Day ceremony, Sally Parry gave a remembrance of her late husband Tom Parry who was a United States Naval Officer and the former city manager for the City of Needles.

Music by the Fort Mojave Tribal Band was led by Amanda McCord closed the Memorial Day ceremony.

May we always give thanks and never forget all the sacrifices of our brave men and women in the United States Armed Forces and those in both law enforcement and first responders. ****
