News Update!!: Highland, CA: 2 people arrested in the homicide of a child.
Authorities have arrested 2 people late Thursday, July 30th, 2015 on suspicion of fatally shooting a 4 year old boy in Highland, California while he was playing with his stuffed animal.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the suspects have been identified as 20 year old Darron Daniels of Moreno Valley, California and 25 year old Maurice Kelley of San Bernardino, California for 1 count of murder (P.C. 187) and 2 counts of attempted murder (P.C. 664/187).
Darron Daniels and Maurice Kelley were booked at Central Detention Center in San Bernardino, California where they are currently being held on $1,000,000.00 bail each.

“Children are innocent. It sets in us a certain sense of urgency to find out who did this, who’s responsible and bring them to justice,” said Adam Cervantes with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department thanked the public and the media for their help in their search for the shooters in this deadly shooting.
According to authorities, it’s still unclear if this shooting case was gang related.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at 8:28pm PT on Wednesday, July 29th, 2015, deputies from the Highland Police Department responded to a report of shots heard in the 7400 block of McKinley Street, in Highland, California. Upon arrival they discovered the victim, identified as 4 year old Daniel Muñoz, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The child was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The child was with cousins and an aunts in a front yard when he was fatally wounded.
