Breaking News!!: Turkey: Military Coup in Turkey.
Turkish news agency is reporting that Turkey’s armed forces has “fully seized control” of Turkey on Friday, July 15th, 2016.
Gunfire was been heard outside military headquarters, fighter jets buzzed over the capital, vehicles blocked 2 major bridges in Istanbul where shots are heard being fired onto protesters.
Martial law has been imposed as tanks take on the streets and highways, social media outlets and satellite communication have been taken down, and state run television stations have been taken over or shut down.

Among the television stations outlets being taken over or shut down, CNN TURK has been shut down which video posted onto CNN TURK’s Facebook showing what happened.

The U.S. State Department us telling United States citizens, “Do not try to go to the US Embassy or Consulates in Turkey at this time; shelter in place.”
All flights at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul have been suspended.
Soldiers have reportedly blocked entry to Ataturk Airport with 4 tanks and 2 other tanks and a military vehicle were stationed in front of the VIP terminal.
There’s reports that the soldiers had entered the tower and stopped all flights.
Reports of military jets were heard flying over Ankara and Istanbul, explosions are being heard in Ankara, and gunfire was heard outside Turkey’s military headquarters in Ankara where local media reports ambulances were seen out front.
The military said it seized control “to reinstall the constitutional order, democracy, human rights and freedoms, to ensure that the rule of law once again reigns in the country, for the law and order to be reinstated.”
The military statement went on to say that “all international agreements and commitments will remain. We pledge that good relations with all world countries will continue.”
According to Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, a group within the military has engaged in what appeared to be an attempted coup.
Prime Minister Binali Yildirim tells NTV television, “it is correct that there was an attempt,” when asked if there was a coup. Yildirim didn’t provide details, but said Turkey would never allow any “initiative that would interrupt democracy. We are focusing on the possibility of an attempt (coup). There was an illegal act by a group within the military that was acting out of the chain of military command. Our people should know that we will not allow any activity that would harm democracy.”
