During the Needles City Council Meeting held on Tuesday, August 9th, 2016, City of Needles Mayor Edward T. Paget told the public that taggers had graffiti the restored El Garces fountain, located behind the El Garces Train Depot, in Downtown Needles, California late last week.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating this graffiti attack on the El Garces fountain.

The El Garces fountain was just restored and completed within the last few months by local community and after all of their hard work, are in shocked and angry about these vandals attacking a part of their community restored history.
The El Garces fountain is near the railroad platform where the Amtrak passenger trains pick up overnight.
There are surveillance cameras in clear view facing the El Garces fountain and El Garces Train Depot just across the railroad tracks in the railroad yard.
No information if authorities are looking at those surveillance cameras.
The community hopes that the vandals are found, arrested, and pay for their damages.
