Needles, CA: Suspects arrested following a traffic stop for possession of a controlled substance for sale.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 5:07pm PT on Saturday, August 20th, 2016, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station conducted a traffic enforcement stop at the intersection of Bazoobuth Street and Palm Way in Needles, California. 

During the traffic stop deputies discovered the passenger, identified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as 29 year old Bradley Underwood of Needles, California, was on felony probation. 

The driver, identified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as 43 year old Edward Lyle Johanknecht of Needles, California, and the passenger were detained for further investigation. 

During a search of Edward Lyle Johanknecht’s vehicle, 2 plastic containers of suspected methamphetamines weighing approximately 12 grams was located in Edward Lyle Johanknecht’s back pack, along with a scale and $283.00 in cash. 

Upon conclusion of the investigation, it was determined Edward Lyle Johanknecht was suspected of selling narcotics. 

Edward Lyle Johanknecht was susequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Needles Jail, and his bail was set at $100,000. 

Bradley Underwood was booked for a probation violation and has no bail.
