Needles, CA: Possession of a stolen vehicle.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, approximately 9:17pm PT on Saturday, September 10th, 2016, deputies from the Colorado River Station responded to the 2500 block of west Needles Highway in Needles, California reference a stolen vehicle.

The vehicles location had been tracked via GPS. The vehicle in question was described as a 2016 white Lexus displaying a California license plate.

The vehicle was initially reported stolen from Primm, Nevada to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Upon arrival deputies located the vehicle parked and unoccupied.

Deputies made contacted with 27 year old Richard Downer from Mohave Valley, Arizona outside the vehicle and was found in possession of the keys to the stolen vehicle.

Video surveillance was obtained by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and Richard Downer was identified as the subject in the video stealing the vehicle.

Richard Downer was arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle and booked in to the Colorado River Station jail.
