Needles, CA: Needles Vice Mayor discuss new industry and jobs related to medical marijuana cultivation, manufacturing, and testing.

 

Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams talked about new industry related to medical marijuana cultivation, manufacturing, and testing with distribution and transportation during the Needles City Council and Needles Public Utility Authority Meeting held on Tuesday, September 27th, 2016 inside the Needles City Council Chambers in Needles, California.

Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams talked about the many companies coming into the Needles, California area for their new industry (Medical Marijuana Cultivation, Manufacturing, and Testing with Distribution and Transportation), and how they’re looking for workers to work from the area.

 

If anybody is interested in submitting their resume, Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams asked that they please bring your resume in Jeff Williams’ box at the Needles City Administration Office located at 817 3rd Street, near F Street, in Downtown Needles, California. When these companies come, Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams said that he will pass those resumes to those companies who are wanting to hire local people from our community.

Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams then talked about his meeting last week at Palo Verde Community College’s Needles Branch in Downtown Needles, California with the adult education consortium and that the State of California is giving them $500 million dollars to do adult education workforce development.

 

Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams said that they came to the City of Needles and they want to do a program with the City of Needles and with the College for Plant Science.

 

Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams met with them on Thursday, September 29th, 2016 and they also working to put on a job fair for this new industry.

Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams then announced an upcoming groundbreaking of a Medical Investor Group happening at 11:00am PT on Wednesday, October 12th, 2016 on their property site, located on Needles Highway, between the on-ramp to westbound Interstate 40 and Pair-A-Dice Boat and RV Storage, in Needles, California.

 

Afterwards, there will be a reception event will be held at the Wagon Wheel Restaurant, located at 2420 Needles Highway just off of Interstate 40, in Needles, California.

 

Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams finish his comments saying that he and the Needles City Manager Rick Daniels will be heading to Desert Hot Springs, California for a State Scoping Meeting with the Department of Agriculture in charge of these rules together for medical marijuana. We’re going to go down there to put our City’s input with them, and to assist in hopefully in getting the rules right.
