Needles, CA: Man arrested for sales of heroin and felony warrant.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, on Monday, October 10, 2016, a probation check was conducted by San Bernardino County Deputies at 1900 Race Street in Needles, California.
While conducting the check, an unknown male approached the location, not knowing deputies were present.
When deputies attempted to contact the suspect, later identified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as 25 years old Anthony Vargas from Needles, California, he fled leading the deputies on a foot pursuit.
Anthony Vargas was arrested after a short foot pursuit.
Anthony Vargas was found to be in possession of one syringe containing heroin, a container with heroin, a small baggie with heroin and multiple empty baggies intended for packaging heroin.
Anthony Vargas was also in possession of multiple baggies with unknown white pills.
Anthony Vargas was found to have a felony arrest warrant.
Anthony Vargas sustained no injuries from the incident and is being held in police custody at the High Desert Detention Center for possession of heroin for sales.
