Florence Henderson, beloved television mom in “The Brady Bunch,” has died on Thursday, November 24th, 2016.

According to Florence Henderson’s Manager Kayla Pressman and Publicist David Brokaw, 82 year old Florence Henderson died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California after being hospitalized the day before suffering heart failure,

Family and friends had surrounded Florence Henderson’s bedside inside Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Known as “America’s favorite mom,” Florence Henderson became a television legend for her work on “The Brady Bunch,” which aired on television in 1969 and has aired reruns around the globe ever since. In recent years,

Florence Henderson took to the dance floor and competed in ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” where Florence Henderson loved the show and being a part of it.

Florence Henderson was born Wednesday, February 14th, 1934, in Dale, Indiana.

Before became big star on television, Florence Henderson took acting, dancing, singing and guitar lessons, even studying French and Italian, and later was in Broadway shows.

In 1963, Florence Henderson went on to play Maria in a road production of “The Sound of Music,” was Nellie Forbush in a revival of “South Pacific” and was back on Broadway with Jose Ferrer in “The Girl Who Came to Supper.”

In 1965, Florence Henderson career nearly came to an end when she suddenly lost her hearing while appearing in “The King and I” in Los Angeles, California. Florence Henderson was diagnosed with a hereditary condition called osteosclerosis, a type of osteopetrosis that involves abnormal hardening of bone and an elevation in bone density.

Florence Henderson overall career lasted more than 6 decades. Florence Henderson married theater executive Ira Bernstein and the couple had 4 children before the marriage ended in divorce after 29 years.

Florence Henderson’s second husband, John Kappas, died in 2002.

Florence Henderson is survived by her children; Barbara, Joseph, Robert and Lizzie, their respective spouses, and 5 grandchildren.
