Big Bear, CA: Repairs made after fiber optic line was cut affecting all landline phones.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, all landline phones in the Big Bear, California area have been repaired after a fiber optic line was cut affecting all landline phones on Saturday, December 10th, 2016.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department issued a press release on the situation at 7:45pm PT tonight.

During the outage, calls to 911 were only being made from a cellular phone until the problem was fix.

Frontier began working on repair the fiber optic line and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department gave an approximately 3 hours for the outage to last.

But, at 7:55pm PT tonight, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department issued another press release on the situation saying that the all landline phones in the Big Bear, California area have been repaired.

No details have been release yet on what caused the fiber optic line to be cut causing the outage.
