Los Angeles, CA: Beloved ‘Star Wars’ icon Carrie Fisher has died.

A beloved icon in the ‘Star Wars’ movies, 60 year old Carrie Fisher, has died at 8:55am PT on Tuesday, December 27th, 2016.

The actress and writer reportedly went into cardiac arrest on Friday, December 23rd, 2016 aboard a flight from London to Los Angeles, California.

Carrie Fisher was sent to a hospital in Los Angeles, California, was then placed on a ventilator, and was being “stable” over the weekend.

Carrie Fisher made her feature film debut opposite Warren Beatty in the 1975 hit “Shampoo.”

Carrie Fisher found enduring fame as Princess Leia in the original “Star Wars” films, including the wildly successful “Star Wars Epsiode IV: A New Hope,” “The Empire Strikes Back,” and “Return of the Jedi” alongside Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill.

Carrie Fisher reprised that role almost 40 years later in the 2015 film “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Carrie Fisher completed work on the next “Star Wars” film schedule to be out in December of 2017.

Carrie Fisher also authored several books and had been touring to promote her latest work, “The Princess Diarist.”

In England, Carrie Fisher had just finished shooting new episodes for Amazon’s streaming series, “Catastrophe,” before her health crisis.

Carrie Fisher is survived by her daughter Billie Lourd, her brother Todd Fisher, and her mother Debbie Reynolds.

Carrie Fisher’s Mother Debbie Reynolds thanked everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter.

“I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop,” said Debbie Reynolds.

Tributes to Carrie Fisher from fans and co-stars continued to grow on social media, including from ‘Star Wars’ co-stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Billy Dee Williams to other celebrities and legions of devoted fans.
