News Update!!: Loma Linda, CA: Suspect in hostage barricade standoff is being held without bail.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect in a hostage barricade standoff on Wednesday, December 28th, 2016 in Loma Linda, California is being held without bail.

The District Attorney’s Office has filed several charges on the suspect, 28 year old Isaac Michael Castillo of San Bernardino, California, who was armed and barricaded himself with a hostage for hours inside a home.

At around 8:22am PT on Wednesday, December 28th, 2016, an armed suspect barricaded himself with a hostage for hours inside a home near New Jersey Street and Romero Road in Loma Linda, California.

Deputies responded to a report of a man, a parolee, armed with a long gun.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Specialized Enforcement Division responded to the residence and a command post was set up.

SWAT Team arrived as the area was secured and nearby residents were evacuated.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, SWAT Team confirmed an adult female being held against her will inside the residence with the barricaded suspect.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, during that barricade standoff, a victim was able to escape from the residence and make contact with deputies.

The victim advised her cousin was still inside the residence with her boyfriend, Isaac Castillo, who was armed with a shotgun and threatening to kill her.

After 8 hours of negotiations, Isaac Castillo surrendered to SWAT personnel at around 5:30pm PT and the second victim was then able to exit the residence as she was found to be unharmed.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Central Station continued the investigation and served a search warrant at the residence, and located a stolen, loaded sawed off shotgun that Isaac Castillo had been armed with during the incident.

Detectives determined Isaac Castillo is on active C.D.C. parole and currently has a “NO Bail Parole Violation” warrant out for his arrest.

Isaac Castillo is a convicted Felon, recently released from prison for prior weapons violations.

Isaac Castillo is also a documented member of a local criminal street gang with a history of violence.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Isaac Castillo was booked into the Central Detention Center where he is being held without bail.

Both victims were interviewed by detectives and were uninjured during the incident.

On Thursday, December 29th, 2016, the report was presented to the District Attorney’s Office for review, and the District Attorney’s Office filed the following Felony charges against Castillo: PC 422 – Criminal Threats PC 459 – Residential Burglary PC 236 – False Imprisonment PC 29800 – Felon Possess Firearm HS 11550(e) – Under the Influence of Narcotics while armed with a gun.

Isaac Castillo will be arraigned in Superior Court on Friday, December 30th, 2016.

During the investigation it was determined that Isaac Castillo had stolen the shotgun on Christmas day, and may have used the gun to commit other crimes.
