Victorville, CA: A licensed marriage and family counselor arrested for “Digital Penetration with a Foreign Object” of a patient.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, in early December 2016, the victim, who is developmentally disabled and suffers from other medical conditions, attended a counseling session with 45 year old Gregory Harmeling at 15000 block of 7th Street in Victorville, California.
Gregory Harmeling is a licensed Marriage and Family Counselor with offices in Victorville, California and the Needles, California area, and this was her second visit with the therapist.
During the session, Gregory Harmeling sat next to the victim and started brushing her hair.
Gregory Harmeling eventually began touching her in an inappropriate manner then proceeded to lock his office door, preventing the victim from leaving.
Gregory Harmeling pushed the victim on to her back, climbed on top of her and sexually assaulted her.
The victim expressed she did not want to be touched in a sexual manner, but Gregory Harmeling continued for several minutes.
Through investigation, detectives from the Victorville Police Department were able to gather information supporting the allegations made by the victim.
On Thursday, December 29th, 2016, Gregory Harmeling of Victorville, California was arrested for Digital Penetration with a Foreign Object and was booked into the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, California.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, a picture (Pictured Above) of the suspect is being released, as it is believed that other victims may exist.
