Needles, CA: Fatal pedestrian versus a semi truck collision along Interstate 40.
According to the California Highway Patrol, at approximately 11:00pm PT on Sunday, January 8th, 2017, a 2011 freight-liner tractor/trailer combination vehicle was traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 just east of J street in Needles, California in the number 2 lane at a stated speed of 57 mph.
For undetermined reason, a pedestrian stepped into the number 2 lane of eastbound interstate 40 directly in front of the tractor/trailer combination vehicle due to this collision the pedestrian sustained fatal.
According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, the pedestrian who was hit was a female adult, not a child.
At this moment, the identity of the person who was hit has not been release until next of kin has been notified.
