Traffic Alert!!: Cajon Pass, CA: Powerful storm washes away part of southbound Interstate 15 and a fire engine.

A powerful storm that has brought heavy rain to southern California has washed away part of southbound Interstate 15 just south of State Route 138 in Cajon Pass, California.

The incident happened along the #5 lane of the southbound Interstate 15 just after 8:00pm PT on Friday, February 17th, 2017.

A San Bernardino County Fire Department fire engine was hanging off the edge of the #5 lane on southbound Interstate 15.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, all of the firefighters were safely out of the fire engine.

This is a picture from Caltrans District 8 of part of southbound Interstate 15 washed away as well as the lights of the San Bernardino County Fire Department fire engine that fell off the edge.

According to Caltrans District 8, the #1 and 2 lanes along southbound Interstate 15 are only open until further notice.
