San Bernardino, CA: Suspects arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 2:18am PT on Wednesday, March 14th, 2017, Deputy L. Sandoval conducted a traffic stop at University Parkway and Hallmark Parkway, and discovered the vehicle was reported stolen out of San Bernardino, California.

Additional deputies arrived, conducted a felony traffic stop and took 2 male subjects into custody.

The males were identified as 32 years old Ernie Mesta from San Bernardino, California and 36 years old Leslie Johnson from San Bernardino, California.

Leslie Johnson is currently on P.R.C.S. (Post Release Community Supervision) for PC 496(A) Possession of Stolen Property and had No Bail Warrant for not reporting in with probation.

Ernie Mesta and Leslie Johnson were both arrested for PC 496D(A) Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and booked into Central Detention Center.

As part of Governor Jerry Brown’s Realignment Plan, or Assembly Bill 109, to comply with a U.S. Supreme Court Decision requiring the state to lower its prison population; offenders with non-violent, non-sexual and non-serious convictions will serve reduced sentences in county jails and be placed on local supervision through county probation.
