Needles, CA: Deputies receive minor injuries during arrest of a man inside Colorado River Medical Center.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at 4:20pm PT on Wednesday, March 29th, 2017, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station were dispatched to the Colorado River Medical Center, located at 1401 Bailey Avenue, in Needles, California for a male subject.

A male subject went to the hospital with a gallon bottle of bleach and was claiming he drank household bleach.

Staff at Colorado River Medical Center called 911 because of the male subject’s unusual behavior.

Deputy Petersen and Deputy Bevan met with the male subject in the waiting room at Colorado River Medical Center who instantly became violent and combative towards the deputies.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the male subject punched at the deputies, attempted to disarm them, and resisted their efforts to arrest him.

After a struggle, the deputies were able to take male subject into police custody and have him treated for the ingestion of bleach.

The male subject was later transported by helicopter to the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada for further treatment.

Both deputies sustained injuries during the confrontation and were treated by the medical staff at the hospital.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department later identified the 32 year old male subject from Needles, California in their press release.

The case is being forwarded to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office for review and filing of charges.
