Residents from the community and those who work in the community got to speak on what they see important for the community and what they want members of the Needles City Council to do for the community as part of their goals.

Some of the items the community and those who work in the community spoke about included:

  • Restore or knock down burnout homes and abandoned buildings in the community, and have Code Enforcement go after those who don’t comply with the law. Several burnout homes and abandoned buildings have sat for years untouched and nothing being done to them well people drive by them thinking about the look of our community. These burnout homes and abandoned buildings are hurting the vision of the community and need to be cleaned up now, including the old motel along Needles Highway and old businesses along West Broadway and Front Street that had their glass busted in and their roof falling down.

  • Making sure that the community is clean and that we’re picking up trashed, litter, and junk on the side of our streets. We need to continue to keep our community clean and picking up junk that is either left in a lot or on the side of the street. We need to make sure that when people coming into our community, they leave with a better vision of our community and wanting to come back.

  • Beautifying the community. Ideas like Marilyn Mathews’ Route 66 Colorado River Walk should be done so to not only beatifically our community, but to help bring in tourist well opening our community to them with our history of the City of Needles and the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe.

** Note: More Items Still Being Added: **
