Kingman, AZ: Wanted fugitive from Modesto, California dies in a crash.
According to the Kingman Police Department, at about 9:50pm MST on Wednesday, May 10th, 2017, 37 year old Kevin Marcus Robertson from Modesto, California was killed in a vehicle crash along the 100 block of East Andy Devine Avenue in Kingman, Arizona.
At about 9:30pm MST, the Kingman Police Department was contacted by authorities in Modesto, California who had information that Kevin Marcus Robertson, who was wanted on a felony warrant for Child Molestation issued by the Modesto Police Department, was in the Kingman, Arizona area.
It was reported that Kevin Marcus Robertson, was despondent, suicidal and believed to be armed with a handgun.
At 9:30pm MST, a Kingman Police Department Officer located Kevin Marcus Robertson and his vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 1900 block of East Andy Devine Avenue.
Kevin Marcus Robertson refused the officers commands and fled in his vehicle westbound on East Andy Devine Avenue.
Kevin Marcus Robertson’s vehicle reached speeds in excess of 95mph.
Upon entering the 100 block of East Andy Devine Avenue, Kevin Marcus Robertson’s vehicle struck the Power House Visitor Center sign post.
Kevin Marcus Robertson was killed in the crash.
Arizona Department of Public Safety was asked to investigate the crash.
It’s unknown at this time if Kevin Marcus Robertson crashed intentionally.
The roadway was closed until 7:00am MST, when Arizona Department of Public Safety concluded their scene investigation and opened the roadway.
The Modesto Police Department was notified. Kingman Police Department, Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Modesto Police Department are working together.
The investigation is on going.
