Needles, CA: Family fun and learning at the 3rd Annual Needles Children’s Health and Safety Fair.
The 3rd Annual Needles Children’s Health and Safety Fair was held at the Needles Recreation Center in Needles, California on Wednesday, May 17th, 2017.
Around 34 agencies participated in the event, including Tri-State Community Healthcare, Needles Head Start, Needles Unified School District, County of San Bernardino Department of Behavioral Health, Colorado River Medical Center, and Needles Center for Change just to name a few.
A total of 175 people, children and parents, attended this year’s event that was held both inside and outside the Needles Recreation Center.
Parents got to learn what health, safe, and education services and resources are out here for their family well their kids got learn about their work and tips on being safe and healthy as well as pick up little goodies for their goodie bag.
The California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, San Bernardino County Fire Department, Baker Emergency Medical Service, Bureau of Land Management, and Operation Lifesaver, Inc. greeted families, talk to them about their service, provided safety tips, and gave out goodies for the kids’ goodie bags.
Parents and their children also got to meet with members of the Needles City Council; including Shawn Gudmundson, Member Clayton, and Tona Belt, and learn about their job with the City of Needles.
Jennifer Valenzuela at the Needles Recreation Center provided families with this pamphlet that shows all of the great activities the Needles Recreation Center and the Needles Municipal Aquatic Center has to offer for kids and families of our community.
There was free food, juice, and water for people and raffle prizes were handed out during the event.
