Colorado River Tri-State: Celebrating Independence Day 2017 with Events and Fireworks Shows.

Here are a list of events and fireworks shows happening around the Colorado River Tri-State celebrating Independence Day on Tuesday, July 4th, 2017.

** Needles, California: **

  • The Needles Aquatic Center will be having a Independence Day Celebration starting at 12:00pm PT on Tuesday, July 4th, 2017 at the Needles Aquatic Center, located at 1101 Civic Center Drive near J Street, in Needles, California.

Come on in and get cool off in the pool well enjoying food, prizes, a pageant ceremony, pool games, and the Miss Freedom and Mr. Firecracker competition for kids between 4 and 5 years old.

Prizes include a drawing for a free family summer pass at the Needles Aquatic Center, great to use when the temperature is very hot outside and need a cool place to cool off.

Admission to the Independence Day Celebration is $2.50 each and the concession stand will be open and serving goodies, operated by the Sandsharks swim team.

** Oatman, Arizona: **

  • The Oatman Sidewalk Egg Frying Contest will be held at 12:00pm PT/MST off Main Street in Oatman, Arizona.

There Egg Frying Contest will have awards for the Best Fried Eggs and other categories.

There will be food, drinks and music as part of the celebrate.

** Laughlin, Nevada: **

  • The Avi Resort and Casino will be having a fireworks show by Zambelli Internationale pyrotechnic company near the Colorado River.

The firework show, titled “Thunder in the Sky” will begin at 8:45pm PT/MST.

Avi Resort and Casino is located at 10000 Aha Macav Parkway in Laughlin, Nevada.

Arrive early to get the best spot to watch the fireworks show.

  • A large firework show, titled “Rockets Over the River”, will be held at 9:00pm PT/MST in view of the Colorado River and casinos along Casino Drive in Laughlin, Nevada.

The fireworks show is being produced by Pyrotecnico and sponsored by the Laughlin Tourism Commission.

The fireworks show will be set to summer and patriotic music.

Arrive early to get the best spot to watch the fireworks show.

** Lake Havasu City, Arizona: **

A fireworks show, titled “Fireworks Over the Lake: July 4th Fireworks Show”, will be held at 9:00pm PT/MST at Thompson Bay in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Watch the sky light up over Thompson Bay with fellow boaters, beach-goers and tailgaters.

Get to your viewing location early and celebrate the magic and wonder fireworks spectacular well on the water and tie up with your fellow boaters in Thompson Bay from the comfort of your boat.

Best viewing locations for the fireworks show includes: Rotary Park (plenty of free parking, straight view of the fireworks, coolers allowed, no alcohol or pets permitted); The Nautical Beachfront Resort (on the island, plenty of free parking, coolers and outside alcohol not permitted); London Bridge Beach (on the island, free parking, coolers allowed); and Thompson Bay (via boat*, please anchor both bow and stern due to winds and current, anchor early as Thompson Bay fills up).

The fireworks will be set off directly across the bay from Lookout Point on Spectator Point (at The Nautical Beachfront Resort).

Tune in to KNTR 980AM for a live simulcast with music set specifically to the fireworks show.

** Law enforcement, city officials and event organizers are reminding pet owners to please keep pets at home and in a secure location during all of the area fireworks shows. More pets are lost during July 4th than any other day of the year. **
