Needles, CA: San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reminds public that all fireworks are prohibited.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station is reminding the public that all fireworks, including the so-called ‘safe and sane’ variety, are prohibited in Needles, California and unincorporated San Bernardino County, California.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, even possessing fireworks, without setting them off, can lead to a fine and/or imprisonment, and in the event a fire occurs due to the unsafe use of fireworks, the responsible persons may face criminal charges and be held liable for damages.
In addition to fires, fireworks cause deaths, blindness, and maiming injuries to children and adults every year.
ZachNews has learned that deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station will be out watching for any illegal fireworks being set off in the community.
Some in the community say that they wish ‘safe and sane’ fireworks could be allowed well other people in the community wish that the community have their own fireworks show like other communities in the Colorado River Tri-State have every year.
ZachNews has asked the City of Needles if it’s possible for the community to have their own fireworks show, but said if there was money to do a fireworks show, including at jack Smith Memorial Park as some people in the community would like to have happen.
Law enforcement and city officials say if you would like to view a firework show, please head to area fireworks shows happening in the Colorado River Tri-State.
