A Needles Recreation and Parks Commission Meeting will be held on Thursday, April 26th, 2018 inside the Needles City Council Chambers located off the J Street, next to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station sign and flag pole, at the Needles Civic Center located at 1111 Bailey Avenue in Needles, California.

Parking is located around the Needles Civic Center just off of J Street near the Needles Recreation Center or just off of Bailey Avenue near the San Bernardino County Needles Branch Library building.

The Needles Recreation and Parks Commission Meeting will start at 4:00pm PT.

Downtown Needles, CA: Needles Project Connect at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church is today.

The San Bernardino County Homeless Partnership invites the community to the Needles Project Connect being held from 10:00am to 2:00pm PT on Thursday, April 26th, 2018 at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church, located at 218 D Street near Third Street, in Downtown Needles, California.

The event plans to have free on-site services, resources and referrals projects for homeless and/or low income individuals and families, include medical screenings, child care information and services, senior services, employment services, transitional assistance department, legal services, services to help U.S. veterans, and more.

The event also plans to have complimentary lunch provided to the first 100 participants when the event starts and hygiene kits will be given out during the event.

Come and celebrate with the community the 33rd Annual Loyalty Day on Saturday, April 28th, 2018 in Golden Shores, Arizona.

The 33rd Annual Loyalty Day event will have a breakfast and lunch, a parade held along historic Route 66, a classic car show, vendors, and karaoke.

Most of these event’s activities will be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6306, located at 12858 Oatman Highway (Route 66), in Golden Shores, Arizona.

From 8:00am to 11:00am MSt, breakfast will be held.

At 10:00am MST, staging for the parade and event’s activities will begin, continuing throughout the day.

At 11:00am MST, parade begins along historic Route 66.

At 7:00pm MST, karaoke begins.

Live News Update!!: Needles, CA: Goodbye Needles City Council Member Robert Richardson, M.D., Tom Darcy Voted In.

During the Needles City Council Meeting on Tuesday, April 24th, 2018, members of the Needles City Council said their goodbyes to Robert Richardson, M.D. on his last day as a Needles City Council Member.

Robert Richardson, M.D. is resigning from the Needles City Council for family reasons.

City of Needles Mayor Edward T. Paget presented Robert Richardson, M.D. with a plaque thanking him for his commitment of his time and service to the City of Needles.

Afterwards, cupcakes were served to members of the Needles City Council and the public in attendance. 

Earlier in the Needles City Council meeting, members of the Needles City Council held interviews to fill the vacant seat of Robert Richardson, M.D.

After a few minutes of discussion, members of the Needles City Council voted 4-1-1 to appoint Tom Darcy onto the Needles City Council filling Robert Richardson, M.D.’s vacant seat.

Needles City Council Member Clayton Hazlewood voted “No” on the appointment and Needles City Council Member Robert Richardson, M.D. abstain himself during the vote.

Thanks Robert Richardson, M.D. for serving on the Needles City Council and our community will miss you as you set off to be with family.

Luke Air Force Base has released the latest information regarding the F-16C aircraft crash landing in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on Tuesday, April 24th, 2018.

According to officials at Luke Air Force Base, the pilot involved in the incident Tuesday morning was released from Havasu Regional Medical Center this afternoon.

Personnel from Luke Air Force Base are en route to the scene to begin recovery of the aircraft.

An interim safety investigation board has been established for the incident and will conduct a full investigation.

Flying operations at Luke Air Force Base resumed this afternoon after pausing for several hours.

This is the final update and any additional questions should be directed to Luke Air Force Base’s Public Affairs Office.

According to officials at Luke Air Force Base, an F-16C assigned to the 56th Fighter Wing was diverted and attempted to land at Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport in Lake Havasu City, Arizona at approximately 10:35am MST on Tuesday, April 24th, 2018 during a routine training flight.

During landing, the aircraft departed the prepared surface and the pilot ejected from the aircraft.

The pilot is in good condition and is being transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center.

First responders are on site and there is no immediate danger to the public.

According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, deputies along with search and rescue crews are on scene assisting and are asking the public to please avoid the area until the investigation is complete.
