Needles, CA: Community prepares to welcome the Run For The Wall 2017.
The community of Needles, California is preparing to welcome hundreds of motorcycle riders participating in the Run For The Wall 2017 as they stop on into Needles, California on Wednesday, May 17th, 2017.
Hundreds of motorcycle riders, including veterans of recent wars and those currently on active duty, will be uniting together in a cross country ride from west to east into Washington, District of Columbia.
The Run For The Wall recognizes the sacrifices and contributions made by all veterans who have served our nation.
The organization promotes healing among all veterans and their families and friends, to call for an accounting of all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action (P.O.W./M.I.A.), to honor the memory of those Killed in Action (K.I.A.) from all wars, and to support our military personnel all over the world.
In a press release sent into ZachNews, the Needles Chamber of Commerce said that this year’s Run For The Wall will feature a panoply of patriotic groups who will present and perform in honor of the veterans who will be welcomed in Needles, California.

The veteran “Pack” will be greeted by the National Anthem, performed by Cheree Souter while the Fort Mojave Color Guard presents the colors.
A special military honor, the Bronze Star, will then be posthumously bestowed on fallen Needles veteran Robert Gonzales by VFW Post 404 Commander George DeLeon.
The Mohave High School ROTC, under the guidance of USAF (Ret) Major Earl Davis will then perform.
Run For The Wall Central Route Coordinator Jim Sloan (“the Sweep”) will then present certificates of appreciation to the local sponsors and supporters of Run For The Wall.

The Fort Mojave Tribal Band and the Needles High School Band will then perform patriotic music as the Run For The Wall riders eat lunch and greet public supporters.
A new component this year will be the presence of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Lake Havasu Chapter.
They will be present to greet the veterans and to thank them for their dedication and service.
The general public is invited to welcome the Run For The Wall “Pack” by lining the streets in Needles, California, including along West Broadway between L Street and G Street.
There will be no food or vendors available to the community at this event.
Lunch will be served to Run For The Wall participants with official wristbands only.
The “Pack” will arrive for refueling on the west end of Needles, California at approximately 1:45pm PT, exiting I-40 at River Road, following Old Route 66 into Needles, California.

Following the fuel stop, they will proceed to Santa Fe Park, located along the 900 block of Front Street near G Street in Downtown Needles, California, will be closed to through traffic so the expected 400 bikes can park there.

Time spent in Needles, California is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, after which they head east to spend their first night in Williams, Arizona.
In pass Run For The Wall riders through Needles, California, people are seen lining along overpasses and along hillsides along Interstate 40 waving American flags and waving as the hundreds of motorcycle riders participating in the Run For The Wall drive by them, including along Five Mile Road overpass and the Park Moabi Road overpass in Needles, California.
Their trek across the United States will end on Memorial Day in Washington D.C. at the Vietnam Memorial Wall where they will honor those who can’t make the ride, the fallen, the disabled and the still missing.
