Breaking News!!: Erie, PA: Nationwide manhunt for Steve W. Stephens ends with Facebook murder suspect killing himself.

The nationwide manhunt underway for Facebook murder suspect accused of shooting death of an elderly man in Cleveland, Ohio has ended on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 when his body was found in a vehicle in Erie, Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania State Police confirmed that 37 year old Steve W. Stephens was spotted by employees at a McDonald’s fast food restaurant on Buffalo Road.

An employee at a McDonald’s fast food restaurant called 911 well employees held up the suspect’s order until authorities arrived.

According to TMZ, Steve W. Stephens’ order of a 20 piece McNugget and a large fry, and employees at a McDonald’s fast food restaurant made it seem the fries weren’t ready so they could buy time.

Steve W. Stephens later shot and killed himself as authorities approached his vehicle.

Steve W. Stephens was filmed himself killing an elderly man, identified as 74 year old Robert Godwin Sr., who walking along East 93rd Street collecting aluminum cans on Sunday, April 16, 2017 then posting the video on Facebook.

A nationwide manhunt was launched for Steve W. Stephens on Monday, April 17th, 2017 with the Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering a reward of up to $30,000 for information leading to his arrest.

Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams gave his report from the International Council of Shopping Centers’ Western Conference and Deal Making convention during the Needles City Council Meeting held on Tuesday, September 13th, 2016 inside the Needles City Council Chambers in Needles, California.

The International Council of Shopping Centers’ Western Conference and Deal Making was held at the San Diego Convention Center in Downtown San Diego, California from Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 to Thursday, September 1st, 2016.

According to the International Council of Shopping Centers, the convention is a great opportunity for owners, developers, retailers, brokers, lenders, municipalities, property asset managers and product and service providers to gather under one roof to exhibit, make deals and form successful business partnerships.

Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams told members of the Needles City Council and the public the meetings he had during the convention and what things could be for Needles, California.

AutoZone: “Met with Davey Cowan (Engineer with Kimley-Horn) whom represents AutoZone, They sent full submittal package to City of Needles on 8/31/16 including parcel map application and development application for a new 6,000 square foot building to be combined on the two pads at Needles Towne Center.” The new AutoZone is coming in the first quarter of 2017.

Needles Towne Center (Atlas Properties): “Met with Jason Radwan and Natasha Radwan-Ahmed who are the new owners of Needles Towne Center. They purchased the property in March of 2016. They are working to finish AutoZone along with some sign improvements. They have a sign company that will be making improvements to the signage especially along Broadway. Jason continues to work to identify new tenants and is targeting quick-serve restaurants for the former Burger King building.”

GP Index Companies: “Met with Ali Salass of GP Index Companies. He is a developer/project manager based in Bullhead City. While he is currently focused on projects in Western Arizona, he was interested in telling us about those opportunities and asked about the status of Needles.”

Aldi: “Met with Michael Wong of Aldi. Aldi discussed their current stories and performance. He said that he either own or use to own a place in Lake Havasu so he knows the region. Aldi will come to that area when they feel like they can put up multiple stores so that they can accommodate the distribution cost to structure.”

McDonald’s: “Met with Liz Caputo, Area Real Estate Manager. We discussed the “rumor” that the Needles McDonalds was closing. She called the franchisee and was clear in her statement that there are NO plans to close that McDonalds.”

ZachNews has spoken with McDonald’s Management and tells ZachNews that the McDonald’s fast food restaurant, located off Third Street near Interstate 40 in Downtown Needles, California, is not closing.

McDonald’s Management also tells ZachNews that they have recently installed new television menu boards, just like the television menu boards seen installed at Subways in Needles, California, and more things are to come for the building.

IHOP: “Met with Mary Voth, Franchise Business Consultant for IHOP. She was clear that IHOP has been aggressive in the re-use/remodel of former Denny’s, Coco’s and Carrow’s Stories. She detailed the protected territory markets for their franchisees and will be introducing the Needles opportunity to the appropriate franchisee’s.”

Marinta Development/Luko Investments: “Met with Scott Fawcett and Michael Lundin (Lundin is also the AutoZone broker). They have an interest in looking at the sites that are available through Pat/Jim Morris to determine the ability to develop those for various retail uses. We expect them to meet with Pat/Jim in late September/ early October and a site visit in October to Needles.”

Frontier Developments: “Met with Tom Carpenter. His team represents a number of major retailers including Walgreens/Rite-Aid and he is interested in seeing what his clients say about Needles and the River-Region.”

SimonCRE: “Met with Carl Wood, who handles real estate site selection for SimonCRE. He thanked Mayor Pro Tem Williams for the work City did on the pending Dollar General and gave us update in terms of construction (they expect to be done about mid-September). Stores generally open 15-30 days after contractor finishes construction, Discussed other clients they represent and Carl will tour community to see what may be a fit.”

Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams adds that the Marinta Development/Luko Investments group were interested in the vacant land and CRE Simon developer has the relationship with grocery outlet.

ZachNews has learned that the vacant land being checked out for a possible grocery outlet is a 14 acres vacant land located along J Street, just south of Motel 6 and just across the street from the soon to open new Dollar General store, in Needles, California.

As for a Walmart Neighborhood Market wanting to come to Needles, California, Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams said that any plans for future Walmart Neighborhood Market are on hold.

Members of the Needles City Council and the public were pleased with the report from Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams and hope that those groups do come to our community and open their business to the area.
