Breaking News!!: Desert Center, CA: Interstate 10 is partially reopened in both directions.

ZachNews -- Breaking News!!

Breaking News!!: Desert Center, CA: Interstate 10 is partially reopened in both directions.

As of 12:00pm PT on Friday, July 24th, 2015, ZachNews can confirmed that Interstate 10 is partially reopened in both directions with one lane of traffic in each direction at the Tex Wash Bridge in Desert Center, California.

According to California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 8, crews have strengthen the westbound side of the bridge on Interstate 10 at Tex Wash Bridge in order to allow 2 way traffic, one lane in each direction, to get over the Tex Wash Bridge.

Once Interstate 10 is reopened, minor work will be performed on the westbound side and work will commence on the eastbound side of the structure to get it operational.

The existing detours that were in place when Interstate 10 was fully closed will remain in effect until the full opening of Interstate 10 happens.

Remember the detours routes as traffic may be slow and there will be delays as 2 lanes of traffic heading east and 2 lanes of traffic heading west are merged into a lane east and a lane west passing by on the Tex Wash Bridge in Desert Center, California.

On Tuesday, July 21st, 2015, California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 8 informed the public that California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will open Interstate 10 at Tex Wash Bridge to traffic on Friday, July 24th, 2015 at 12:00pm PT.

Interstate 10 was fully closed after a bridge collapsed on eastbound Interstate 10 at the Tex Wash in Desert Center, California on Sunday, July 19th, 2015.
