News Update!!: Rialto, CA: Both directions of Interstate 10 slowly reopen following a fiery crash that killed 5 people.

Both directions of Interstate 10 in Rialto, California are slowly being reopen following a fiery crash that killed 5 people on Friday, February 16th, 2018.

The fiery crash occurred near Riverside Avenue shortly before 1:00pm PT.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a concrete pumping truck traveling westbound along Interstate 10 in the third lane crossed over onto eastbound lanes of Interstate 10, taking out a guardrail, and crashes head on into multiple vehicles, including a trash truck and a motorcycle.

Several of the vehicles were fully engulfed in flames, and some of the vehicles were underneath the concrete pumping truck.

Firefighters from Rialto Fire Department, Colton Fire Department, and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the fiery crash.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 5 people have been confirmed killed in a crash, a drive was non life threatening injured and sent to a local hospital, and another driver walked away without injuries.

It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the driver crossed onto the eastbound side.

Both directions of Interstate 10 were closed for hours due to a fiery crash causing a big traffic jam that was backed up for several mile.

Through the afternoon and into the overnight hours, accident investigators investigate the fiery crash well tow crews and Caltrans crews work to remove the wreckage from the fiery crash and clean up any debris as well as make any repairs along both sides of Interstate 10.

As of 6:20am PT on Saturday, February 17th, 2018, the Caltrans District 8 said that 2 lanes of eastbound Interstate 10 at Riverside Avenue are open and the #3 and #4 lanes of westbound Interstate 10 are open.

The California Highway Patrol is asking anybody with dash cam video related to the fiery crash to please contact the California Highway Patrol Office in San Bernardino, California at: 1 (909) 383-4247.

Both directions of Interstate 10 at Riverside Avenue in Rialto, California in closed due to a multiple fatal crash and fire.

According to the California Highway Patrol, shortly before 1:00pm PT, a concrete pumping truck traveling west in the third lane on the Interstate 10 crossed over onto eastbound lanes, taking out a guardrail, crashes head on with multiple vehicles, and caught fire near Riverside Avenue.

Firefighters from Rialto Fire Department and Colton Fire Department responded to the crash.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 5 people have been confirmed killed in a crash.

Eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 would be closed for 8 to 10 hours, while westbound lanes were expected to be closed for at least 3 hours.

Traffic was backed up for several miles shortly and motorists are being told to use Interstate 210 or State Route 60 are a detour.

ZachNews has learned that a 1941 BMW R12 German motorcycle and box trailer that was stolen from a driveway of a home in Orangecrest, California on Monday, February 27th, 2017 has been found on Monday, March 20th, 2017 in Rialto, California.

ZachNews received a picture (Pictured Above) from KNBC Channel 4 Photojournalist Alex Vasquez showing Mike Dunn with the 1941 BMW R12 German motorcycle and box trailer.

ZachNews has learned that a tip posted on Facebook lead him to the 1941 BMW R12 German motorcycle and box trailer.

ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary A. Lopez spoke with Mike Dunn on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017 about the theft and played the surveillance video that showed the theft.

Mike Dunn is thanking everybody for their help.

At this moment, authorities have not arrested anybody in this theft case that occurred at approximately 5:00am PT on Monday, February 27th, 2017.

ZachNews can confirmed that the 2 missing teenagers who were reported missing on Monday, October 17th, 2016 in Rialto, California, have been found safe.

Rialto Police Department Detective Mike Morales tells ZachNews that 14 years old Edward Contreras and 14 years old Mckenzie Lugo were found in Upland, California by a friend.

Authorities and family search San Bernardino County, California as tips of their whereabouts were coming in.

The search for the 2 missing teenagers even came into the Needles, California area after tips of their whereabouts came in from local restaurants and residents.

Authorities and the family are thanking everybody, including ZachNews, for helping in finding the 2 missing teenagers.

Melissa Contreras tells ZachNews that they are thankful they were found and that, “we truly could’ve did it without all of those involved in the social media and I give all glory to God.”

Jorge Alberto Lugo Beltran tells ZachNews, “It gives me such great relief  to announce both missing teenagers were found safe in Upland, Ca this afternoon and are now home. Our friends and family  from both Mackenzie and Edward family  would like to thank all of the Needles, Ca residents and community  including the  surroundings areas for the outpouring of support throughout  this ordeal. There is truly good and amazing people out in the world that work to make this world a better and safer place to live in and Needles, Ca sets the example. Thank you, again.”

News Update!!: Needles, CA: Local search for 2 missing teenagers from Rialto, California.

ZachNews has some additional information regarding the 2 missing teenagers, 14 year old Edward Contreras and 14 year old Mckenzie Lugo, from Rialto, California missing since Monday, October 17th, 2016.

According to the Rialto Police Department, on Monday, October 17th, 2016, Edward Contreras and girlfriend Mckenzie Lugo were dropped off at their schools.

Edward Contreras was dropped off at Ellsworth High School and Mckenzie Lugo was dropped off at Rialto High School.

Both Edward Contreras and Mckenzie Lugo reportedly didn’t went to their classes.

Rialto Police Department confirmed to ZachNews that the 2 teenagers are still missing.

ZachNews as well as authorities have been receiving tips on where the 2 missing teenagers have been spotted at a train station and local restaurants, including a waitress spotted them at Lucy’s Mexican Restaurant located at 811 Front Street near E Street, in Downtown Needles, California between 5:00pm and 7:00pm PT on Thursday, October 20th, 2016.

ZachNews has also learned from law enforcement working the case that family of one of the missing teenagers live in the Needles, California area and may have ran away.

Some of the missing persons flyers have been seen at local businesses around the community, including at Lucy’s Mexican Restaurant, Jack in the Box, Needles Point Liquor, Napa Auto Care/Big O Tires, Cubs Liquor, River City Pizza, Colorado River Market, and Westside Chevron.

Edward Contreras is described as 5’7, weight 170 pounds, has brown color hair, brown color eyes, and has braces with pink rubberbands.

Mckenzie Lugo is described as 5’8, weight 145 pounds, has brown color hair, and brown color eyes.

Breaking News!!: Rialto, CA: Man run over on eastbound Interstate 10.

A man has reportedly been run over on eastbound Interstate 10 at Pepper Avenue in Rialto, California.

According to the California Highway Patrol, at around 6:45am PT, the man was walking along eastbound Interstate 10 when the man was struck and killed.

California Highway Patrol are on scene and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Coroner has been called to the scene.

Eastbound Interstate 10 was closed, but work is underway to reopen some eastbound lanes of Interstate 10.
