Breaking News!!: Riverside, CA: Enrique Marquez has been criminally charged in connection with the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, California.

A longtime friend and former neighbor of attacker Syed Rizwan Farook was criminal charged on Thursday, December 17th, 2015 with conspiring to provide material support to terrorists, defrauding immigration authorities, and the unlawful purchase of 2 assault rifles which were used in the terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015.

According to the United States Department of Justice, 24 year old Enrique Marquez Jr. of Riverside, California, was charged with conspiring to provide material support to terrorists based upon his role in terrorist plotting with Syed Rizwan Farook in 2011 and 2012, the unlawful purchase of the 2 assault rifles used in the deadly shooting 2 weeks ago and defrauding immigration authorities by entering into a sham marriage with a member of Syed Rizwan Farook’s family.

Enrique Marquez was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) and did enter a plead at his initial court appearance this afternoon inside a federal court in Riverside, California.

Enrique Marquez was charged in a 3 count criminal complaint filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California with conspiring to provide material support—including personnel, firearms and explosives—to terrorists in 2011 and 2012; with making a false statement in connection with acquisition of firearms; and immigration fraud.

“Enrique Marquez Jr. is charged with conspiring to provide material support to terrorists for his role in plotting attacks on American soil in 2011 and 2012, attacks which were, fortunately, not carried out. He is also charged with a firearms violation for making a straw purchase of weapons for Syed Rizwan Farook—weapons that were eventually used to carry out the recent terrorist attack in San Bernardino. We will continue to investigate, and seek to hold accountable anybody found to be involved in, that heinous act. I would like to extend my gratitude to all the members of law enforcement involved in this ongoing investigation,” said Assistant Attorney General Carlin.

“Mr. Marquez conspired with Mr. Farook to commit vicious attacks, as set forth in today’s charges. Even though these plans were not carried out, Mr. Marquez’s criminal conduct deeply affected San Bernardino County, Southern California, and the entire United States when the guns purchased by Marquez were used to kill 14 innocent people and wound many others. While there currently is no evidence that Mr. Marquez participated in the Dec. 2, 2015 attack or had advance knowledge of it, his prior purchase of the firearms and ongoing failure to warn authorities about Farook’s intent to commit mass murder had fatal consequences. Today’s charges are the result of exceptional work by many prosecutors and law enforcement agencies, and I thank them for their tremendous effort so far in this case,” said U.S. Attorney Eileen M. Decker of the Central District of California.

“Many dedicated law enforcement personnel have worked around the clock and side by side with their Joint Terrorism Task Force partners to gather evidence and build a solid terrorism case against Mr. Marquez over the past two weeks. As we will continue to investigate the facts surrounding the terrible shooting in San Bernardino, we will leave no stone unturned in an effort to deliver answers and justice to the murdered victims and the families they left behind,” said Assistant Director in Charge David Bowdich of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.)’s Field Office in Los Angeles, California.

According to the United States Department of Justice, the affidavit in support of the complaint provides details into parts of the exhaustive and ongoing investigation into the attack on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015, that killed 14 people at the Inland Regional Center (I.R.C.). The complaint does not allege that Marquez was involved in the terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center (I.R.C.).

The complaint does allege that Marquez purchased the AR-15-style rifles that were ultimately used in the shooting, that Marquez previously purchased explosive material that was ultimately used to construct a pipe bomb that was found at the Inland Regional Center (I.R.C.) and that in 2011 and 2012, Marquez and Syed Rizwan Farook planned terrorist attacks in the Inland Empire, California, that ultimately were not carried out.

According to the affidavit, in approximately 2005, Enrique Marquez moved to Riverside, where he met Syed Rizwan Farook, who was his next-door neighbor. After their initial meeting, Syed Rizwan Farook introduced Marquez to Islam, and, in 2007, Enrique Marquez converted to Islam.

Syed Rizwan Farook later introduced Marquez to radical Islamic ideology, which included expressing disdain towards Muslims in the U.S. military who killed other Muslims, as well as discussing the extremist views of the now-deceased imam and Islamic lecturer Anwar al-Aulaqi.

Over the next few years, Syed Rizwan Farook provided Enrique Marquez with radical Islamic materials, and by 2011, Marquez spent most of his time at Syed Rizwan Farook’s residence listening to lectures and watching videos involving radical Islamic content. Those materials included Inspire Magazine, the official publication of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), and videos produced by Al-Shabaab. In August 2011, Syed Rizwan Farook informed Marquez of his interest in joining AQAP in Yemen.

In late 2011, according to the affidavit, Enrique Marquez and Syed Rizwan Farook started planning to use firearms and explosives to carry out terrorist acts—attacks that Marquez told investigators were designed to maximize the number of casualties that could be inflicted.

The affidavit recounts a recent interview with Enrique Marquez in which he admitted making plans with Syed Rizwan Farook to attack the library or cafeteria at Riverside Community College (R.C.C.), where both men had been students. The plan allegedly was to throw pipe bombs into the cafeteria area from an elevated position on the second floor, and then to shoot people as they fled.

Marquez and Syed Rizwan Farook also planned to attack eastbound lanes of State Route 91 (S.R.91) during afternoon rush hour, the affidavit states. Enrique Marquez told investigators that they chose a particular section of the freeway because there were no exits, which would increase the number of targets in the eastbound lanes.

The plan was for Syed Rizwan Farook to throw pipe bombs on to the freeway, which they believed would disable vehicles and stop traffic. Syed Rizwan Farook allegedly planned to then move among stopped vehicles, shooting into them, while Enrique Marquez shot into vehicles from a position on a nearby hillside. Enrique Marquez allegedly said that he would watch for law enforcement and emergency vehicles, and his priority was to shoot law enforcement before shooting life-saving personnel.

According to the affidavit, Enrique Marquez and Syed Rizwan Farook took steps to carry out their plans by purchasing firearms, ammunition and other tactical gear, as well as going to local firing ranges. In late 2011 and 2012, Enrique Marquez allegedly purchased two firearms and portrayed himself as the actual purchaser of the rifles, when he was in fact buying the weapons for Syed Rizwan Farook as part of the plan to attack RCC and SR-91.

According to the affidavit, Enrique Marquez told investigators that he agreed to purchase the weapons because “his appearance was Caucasian, while Syed Rizwan Farook looked Middle-Eastern.” Investigators have determined that on Nov. 14, 2011, Marquez purchased a Smith and Wesson M&P-15 Sport rifle for Farook. On Feb. 22, 2012, Enrique Marquez purchased a DPMS model A-15 rifle, according to records in the affidavit, which states that each rifle cost approximately $750.

Around the same time as he purchased the firearms for Syed Rizwan Farook, Enrique Marquez purchased explosives—specifically smokeless powder—“in furtherance of his and Farook’s plans to create bombs and commit mass killings,” according to the affidavit.

In the first half of 2012, Enrique Marquez and Syed Rizwan Farook allegedly continued to prepare for terrorist attacks by going to firing ranges to practice shooting guns and further discussing extremist ideologies. After 2012, Enrique Marquez allegedly distanced himself from Syed Rizwan Farook and ceased plotting with Syed Rizwan Farook for a variety of reasons, including the arrest of Ralph Deleon and others on material support for terrorism charges in November 2012.

The complaint affidavit alleges the following timeline of events based on the investigation to date. On the morning of Dec. 2, 2015, shortly after 9:00 a.m., Farook went to an event at the IRC and placed an item on a table. Following the shooting at the IRC, investigators discovered a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) on a table—a pipe bomb constructed out of three galvanized steel pipes and smokeless powder that was armed and ready to detonate.

A subsequent search of Syed Rizwan Farook’s residence led to the discovery of smokeless powder that Marquez allegedly admitted purchasing in 2011 while planning terrorist acts with Syed Rizwan Farook.

In addition, a remote control was found in the sports utility vehicle after Farook and his wife Tafsheen Malik were killed. In his interview with investigators, Marquez allegedly stated that the smokeless powder was purchased to be used in the construction of an “explosive device.” Enrique Marquez described his familiarity with the use of remote-control devices to detonate IEDs, and said he and Syed Rizwan Farook reviewed instructions on how to make IEDs that were in Inspire Magazine, according to the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, subsequent investigation determined that on the morning of the shooting, a Facebook account associated with Malik searched for materials related to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). Shortly after the shooting, a post on a Facebook page associated with Malik said, “We pledge allegiance to Khalifa bu bkr al bhaghdadi al quraishi” which the affidavit alleges is a reference to the leader of ISIL.

After Farook and Malik were killed in the shooting that ended the pursuit, authorities recovered four firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition. Among the firearms recovered were the two rifles that Marquez allegedly purchased for Syed Rizwan Farook several years earlier. Forensic testing has confirmed that the two rifles were used in the attack on the IRC.

Four days after the attack on the IRC, Marquez met with law enforcement officials investigating the incident. Marquez admitted a series of statements that are detailed in the affidavit.

In addition to the charges related to the straw purchase of the rifles and the plans to commit terrorist attacks, Marquez is charged with defrauding United States Citizenship and Immigration Services in relation to a sham marriage with a member of Syed Rizwan Farook’s extended family so that she could obtain legal status in the United States. In return for his participation in the fraud, she paid Marquez $200 per month.

The charge of conspiring to provide material support to terrorists carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

The charge of making a false statement in connection with the acquisition of firearms carries a statutory maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

The charge of immigration fraud carries a statutory maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

If convicted, any potential sentence will be determined by the court after review of factors unique to this case, including the defendant’s prior criminal history, if any, the defendant’s role in the offense and the characteristics of the violation.

A criminal complaint is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by complaint is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

This investigation is being conducted by several partner agencies that are part of the Los Angeles FBI’s Inland Empire Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Several agencies are providing considerable assistance to the investigation, including the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office and detectives with the Chino Police Department; the Redlands Police Department; and the Corona Police Department.

In addition, investigators have collaborated with sister task forces in the region and throughout the country, as well as with the intelligence community; foreign law enforcement partners; and various FBI Legal Attachés located overseas.

The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Central District of California and the National Security Division’s Counterterrorism Section.

– 911 operator: What was the guy’s name that had your gun?

– Enrique Marquez: It’s Syed Farook.

Later that day, Enrique Marquez checked into the Harbor–UCLA Medical Center’s Emergency Room.

According to the affidavit, Enrique Marquez told medical personnel that his mother called him earlier telling him the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms had been to her house asking about him.

Enrique Marquez also told medical personnel that he did not normally drink, but had consumed 9 bottles of beer prior to his arrival because he was upset.

Enrique Marquez was then taken to the psychiatric ward and placed on an involuntary hold.

Breaking News!!: San Bernardino, CA: Federal Bureau of Investigation breaks into terror suspect’s iPhone without Apple’s help.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, they have successfully used a mysterious technique without Apple’s help to break into an iPhone linked to terror suspect Syed Rizwan Farook in the terrorist attack that killed 14 people at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2016.

The surprise development announced on More Monday, March 28th, 2016 effectively ends a pitched court battle between Apple and the United States of America President Barack Obama’s Administration.

The government told a federal court without any details that it accessed data on terror suspect Syed Farook’s iPhone and no longer requires Apple’s assistance. Apple did not immediately comment on the development.

– A United States Magistrate Judge has ordered Apple Inc. to help the United States of America President Barack Obama Administration hack into an encrypted iPhone belonging to Syed Farook, the shooter in the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, California, in a first-of-its-kind ruling that pits digital privacy against national security interests.

The ruling on Tuesday, February 16th, 2016 by United States Magistrate Judge Sheri Pym, a former federal prosecutor, requires Apple to supply highly specialized software the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) can load onto Syed Farook’s work iPhone to bypass a self-destruct feature, which erases the phone’s data after too many unsuccessful attempts to unlock it.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) wants to be able to try different combinations in rapid sequence until it finds the right one.

The decision gives the United States Justice Department a significant victory in an entrenched technology policy battle, as more-powerful encryption services threaten the ability of federal agents to uncover important evidence in criminal or terrorism cases.

The United States of America President Barack Obama Administration, which has embraced stronger encryption as a way to keep consumers safe on the Internet, had struggled to find a compelling example to make its case.

Syed Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, killed 14 people at a holiday luncheon for Syed Farook’s co-workers at the Inland Regional Center on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015.

The terrorist attack in San Bernardino, California was the deadliest terrorist attack on United States of America soil since the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon in 2001.

Later, the couple, Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik, died in a gun battle with law enforcement.

Federal prosecutors told the judge in a court application Tuesday, February 16th, 2016 that they can’t access a work phone used by Syed Farook because they don’t know his passcode and Apple has not cooperated.

Under United States’ law, a work phone is generally the property of a person’s employer.

United States Magistrate Judge Sheri Pym told Apple to provide an estimate of its cost to comply with her order, suggesting that the government will be expected to pay for the work.

The Apple company, based in Cupertino, California, has provided default encryption on its iPhones since 2014, allowing any device’s contents to be accessed only by the user who knows the phone’s passcode.

The order requires that the software Apple provides be programmed to work only on Syed Farook’s work phone, but it was not clear how readily that safeguard could be circumvented.

The order said Apple has 5 days to notify the court if it believes the ruling is unreasonably burdensome.

It also was not immediately clear what investigators believe they might find on Syed Farook’s work phone or why the information would not be available from third-party service providers, such as Google or Facebook, though investigators think the device may hold clues about whom the couple communicated with and where they may have traveled.

The couple took pains to physically destroy two personally owned cell phones, crushing them beyond the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.)’s ability to recover information from them.

They also removed a hard drive from their computer; it has not been found despite investigators diving for days for potential electronic evidence in a nearby lake in San Bernardino, California.

Syed Farook was not carrying his work iPhone during the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, California and was discovered after a subsequent search.

It was not known whether Syed Farook forgot about the iPhone or did not care whether investigators found it.

Syed Farook’s work phone was running the newest version of Apple’s iPhone operating system, which requires a passcode and cannot be accessed by Apple, unlike earlier operating systems or older phone models.

The County of San Bernardino provided Syed Farook with an iPhone configured to erase data after 10 consecutive unsuccessful unlocking attempts.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) have said that feature appeared to be active on Syed Farook’s iPhone as of the last time he performed a backup.

Investigators are still working to piece together a missing 18 minutes in the couple’s timeline from the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, California.

Investigators have concluded they were at least partly inspired by the Islamic State group; Tashfeen Malik’s Facebook page included a note pledging allegiance to the group’s leader around the time of the terrorist attack on San Bernardino, California.

Last week, Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.)  Director James Comey told members of United States Congress that investigators in the case had been unable to access a phone in the California case but provided no details.

“It is a big problem for law enforcement armed with a search warrant when you find a device that can’t be opened even when a judge says there’s probable cause to open it. It affects our counterterrorism work. San Bernardino, a very important investigation to us, we still have one of those killers’ phones that we have not been able to open, and it’s been over two months and we’re still working on it,” said  Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.)  Director James Comey.

San Bernardino County Officials have turned to the State of California to take over interim management of the Division of Environmental Health Services, and the State of California in turn brought in retirees and employees on loan from other jurisdictions on a temporary, as needed basis, until the staff members are ready to return.

According to San Bernardino County’s Public Information Officer David Wert, this attack has affected all of them very deeply and the County of San Bernardino wants to give their staff as much time as they need.

It was previously announced that the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California will remain closed until after the new year 2016.

– An underwater search for a computer hard drive and anything else linked to the 2 attackers, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, who killed 14 people in a terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California concluded over the weekend.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Spokeswoman Laura Eimiller, specialized divers with the agency concluded their search through the lake at Seccombe Lake Park in San Bernardino, California for abandoned evidence, but declined to say if any items recovered are related to the probe.

Investigators have said the 2 attackers tried to cover their tracks by destroying emails, cellphones and other items at their home in Redlands, California.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) were tipped that the small lake in a park about 3 miles from the Inland Regional Center might hold the hard drive, according to a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation but not authorized to speak publicly about the case.

According to David Bowdich, Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) in Los Angeles, California, the search of the lake began on Thursday, December 10th, 2015 after authorities learned the 2 attackers, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, may have been in the area the day of the terrorist attack.

Authorities say Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, who came to the United States of America on a fiancee visa in July 2014 and married her husband the next month, were not known to authorities before the terrorist attack.

Since the terrorist attack, authorities have determined the couple discussed martyrdom and jihad online as early as 2013.

Authorities are saying that Syed Rizwan Farook’s longtime friend and relative through marriage, Enrique Marquez, bought the assault rifles used in the shooting more than 3 years ago, about the time he converted to Islam.

Syed Rizwan Farook asked Enrique Marquez to buy the rifles because he was worried he wouldn’t pass the background check himself.

Enrique Marquez, who checked himself into a mental hospital after the attack, told investigators that he and Syed Rizwan Farook were plotting an attack in 2012.

Enrique Marquez hasn’t been charged with a crime and has been cooperating with authorities.

– A search for a computer hard drive and anything else linked to the 2 attackers, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, in the killing of 14 people in a terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California stretched into the weekend at a lake at Seccombe Lake Park in San Bernardino, California.

Specialized divers with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) looked through a lake for abandoned evidence.

Investigators have said the 2 attackers tried to cover their tracks by destroying emails, cellphones, and other items at their home in Redlands, California.

Authorities are saying that the 2 attackers were tipped that the small lake in a park about 3 miles from the Inland Regional Center might hold the hard drive.

Divers could be seen recovering at least two possible pieces of evidence on Friday, December 11th, 2015 during the second day of searches in the lake.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) declined to comment to the news media on what was found, but Thursday, December 10th, 2015, had indicated it was acting on leads that the attackers, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, had gone to the area of Seccombe Park some time before they were killed in a shootout with law enforcement on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015, just hours after the terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California.

Investigators have been seeking the digital trail of communications and planning for the terrorist attack.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) has said it is apparent efforts were made to hide or destroy digital evidence, including two cellphones found earlier in a dumpster near the rented townhouse of Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik in Redlands, California.

A recovered computer was missing its hard drive that is believed to be one of the significant items investigators have been seeking.

The is reports that an items that was recovered from that lake appeared to be of a size consistent with a hard drive.

That items were kept immersed and packed for followup investigation.

– New details has emerged regarding Enrique Marquez, the man who authorities say supplied the 2 assault rifles to the 2 attackers, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, in the terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California.

Enrique Marquez has been repeatedly questioned by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) since the terrorist attack on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015 that killed 14 people and wounded 22 people.

Sources are telling NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 that Enrique Marquez is sharing information with authorities about a possible plan for a terrorist attack by Syed Rizwan Farook in 2012.

Enrique Marquez reportedly told investigators Syed Rizwan Farook hesitated after the arrest of several people he may have known.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Officials are saying that those people arrested in the 2012 plot were not an attack in the United States of America.

“There was never, in fact I’m certain of it, a credible threat to the U.S. We watched them for months and months and months,” said David Bowdich, Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Office in Los Angeles, California.

On Thursday, December 10th, 2015, Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) personnel focused their attention on a lake at lake at Seccombe Lake Park, just a few miles away from the Inland Regional Center, in San Bernardino, California.

– A press conference with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) was held at around 3:00pm PT of Thursday, December 10th, 2015.

David Bowdich, Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Office in Los Angeles, California, spoke to the news media saying that they are searching the lake at Seccombe Lake Park in San Bernardino, California.

Divers are searching for evidence connected to the terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California that killed 14 people on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015.

“We’re seeking evidence of anything that had to do with this particular crime. They were here at some point,” said David Bowdich, Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Office in Los Angeles, California.

At least 2 dive team members are searching in the water of this small lake inside a city park surrounded by yellow police tape.

According to David Bowdich, Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Office in Los Angeles, California, the search is expected to last days and there was no threat to the public.

Authorities have been searching for a missing hard drive from a computer of Syed Rizwan Farook from his home, and authorities are searching this man made city lake for possibly that missing hard drive.

Authorities say both Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik have been to the lake before.

Since the shooting, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) has interviewed hundreds of people and conducted searches in the area looking for evidence.

It was not immediately clear whether any items were recovered.

David Bowdich, Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Office in Los Angeles, California, revealed to the news media that a 22nd victim in last week’s terrorist attack had checked herself into the hospital with injuries she suffered, but offered no additional details.

The injured count in terrorist attack on San Bernardino, California was 21 people as of Wednesday, December 9th, 2015.

NBC News has reported the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) is pursuing evidence Syed Rizwan Farook began formulating a terror attack more than 3 years ago but was spooked into lying low when the FBI announced that in nearby Chino, California it had arrested three individuals involved in an extremist conspiracy to travel to Afghanistan.

Special forces in Afghanistan captured a 4 individual, Sohiel Kabir, described as the recruiter, and all 4 people are currently in prison.

“I’m not prepared to discuss that at this point because I just don’t have all the answers,” said David Bowdich, Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Office in Los Angeles, California.

David Bowdich, Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Office in Los Angeles, California, declined to comment on Syed Rizwan Farook’s friend Enrique Marquez who bought the assault rifles used in the shooting and may or may not be in Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) custody.

**** Tips on what to do if you see a “Suspicious Package”: **

– Things to look for with suspicious packages:

Excessive postage

No return address

Oily stains or discolorations

Excessive weight

Protruding wires or tinfoil

– Questions to ask yourself:

Is the package vibrating or beeping?

Does the package have a strange smell?

Is the package located in a place where it shouldn’t be?

Raise awareness if the package is dropped off in front of the following places: police station, Department of Motor Vehicles, courthouse, city council member’s house, mosque, church, and synagogue.

According to Los Angeles Police Department Bomb Squad Detective Paul Robi, “Trust your judgment. If it’s strange or weird to you, guess what — it’s weird to me too.”

– What to do:

Don’t touch it, don’t move it – just get away from it and notify the authorities.

As the investigation continued at the Inland Regional Center, the doors to the facility remained closed leaving families who count on services at the Inland Regional Center in limbo.

“It’s frustrating,” a mother from Murrieta, California, who asked not to be identified, said to NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 adding that her 4 year old daughter has a rare disorder called Doose’s Syndrome.

“Since the shooting happened … we are kind of stuck in between. I feel sad for the victims … but we are the silent victims,” said the mother from Murrieta, California.

According to her mother, her daughter was approved to get a caseworker and on call caretaker through the Inland Regional Center earlier this year, but because of what happened at the Inland Regional Center last week, the process is on hold now, and with the holidays coming up, she don’t know what they happen.

According to the Inland Regional Center’s website, “For the past 44 years, Inland Regional Center’s qualified and supportive employees strive daily to serve more than 31,000 individuals with developmental disabilities in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Our core values of independence, inclusion and empowerment are the foundation that drives all staff in interactions, provisions of services, and program planning processes.”

However, according to Inland Regional Center Spokeswoman Leeza Hoyt, “the repair and cleanup process will take longer than expected.”

Inland Regional Center Spokeswoman Leeza Hoyt added that the staff is in the process of setting up access at other locations for clients.

“The repair process [at the IRC] could be as long as the first of the year,” said Inland Regional Center Spokeswoman Leeza Hoyt.

** Picture from NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 and NBC News: **

– During a Senate Judiciary Committee, Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Director James Comey said that the 2 San Bernardino shooters were radicalized at least 2 years ago and had discussed jihad and martyrdom as early as 2013, a year before they married.

According to Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Director James Comey, investigators believe that Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik, were radicalized even before they began their online relationship and that Tashfeen Malik held extremist views before she arrived in the United States of America last year.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Director James Comey told the Senate Judiciary Committee that the 2 “as early as the end of 2013 were talking to each other about jihad and martyrdom before they became engaged and married and were living in the U.S.”

The disclosure means that Tashfeen Malik’s radicalization had already begun when she applied for a visa to come to the United States of America to get married, and that the government’s vetting process apparently failed to detect it.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Director James Comey told the Senate Judiciary Committee that he didn’t know enough to say whether weaknesses in the visa process enabled her to enter the United States of America.

Tashfeen Malik moved from Pakistan to the United States of America in July 2014 and married Syed Rizwan Farook, who was born in Chicago in 1987 and raised in California, the following month.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Officials had previously said that the couple had been radicalized for “quite some time,” but the disclosure on Wednesday, December 10, 2015, a week after the terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California, was the most specific yet about the timeline of their relationship and progression toward extremism.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Director James Comey told the Senate Judiciary Committee that the couple was clearly inspired by a foreign terror organization, but that investigators did not yet know whether their online courtship was arranged by such a group or developed naturally on its own.

“It would be a very, very important thing to know,” said Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Director James Comey.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Director James Comey described the couple as an example of homegrown violent extremists who appear to have radicalized “in place,” drawing a distinction between the terrorist attack on San Bernardino, California and the terrorist attack on Paris, France last month that suspect involved planning and training in Syria.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Director James Comey declined to say what role, if any, encrypted communications played in last week’s terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California.

Though Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Director James Comey said the United States of America President Barack Obama Administration was not seeking to address concerns over data encryption on smartphones, Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Director James Comey said he remained concerns that criminals, terrorists and spies were using such technology to evade detection.

“Increasingly, we are unable to see what they say, which gives them a tremendous advantage,” said Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Director James Comey.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Director James Comey told the Senate Judiciary Committee that one of the gunmen in the shooting outside a Prophet Mohammed cartoon contest in Garland, Texas in May 2015 had exchanged more than 100 messages prior to the attack that investigators still had been unable to access.

– New questions arise as to whether the gunmen had help from another person or group.

Investigators have said Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik opened fire on co-workers at a holiday party there.

Authorities, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.),  are investigating the attack as “an act of terrorism”.

ISIS has said Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik were followers of the group.

NBC News is reporting that there has been no evidence to indicate the couple was part of a broader network, but investigators are seeking out any possible associates who may have helped make the attack possible.

In particular, authorities are examining a $28,000 deposit made to Syed Rizwan Farook’s bank account in the weeks prior to the attack, along with cellphone data and electronic records.

Authorities say that it’s unclear who deposited the funds.

According to NBC News, officials have said the couple, Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik, was in touch with people in the Los Angeles, California area who expressed extremist views and may have communicated with others in San Diego, California, the Midwest of the United States of America, and overseas.

– Law enforcement officers and deputies spoke about the terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015.

During this news conference on Tuesday, first responders and law enforcement officers and deputies, from several responding agencies, gave their stories of what happened that day that terror hit their community.

As alarms where going off, sprinklers on, and their vision dimmed by smoke from gunpowder, brave law enforcement officers and deputies, with the help of emergency dispatchers, helped guide the groups of law enforcement officers and deputies into the chaos scene never turning back because they all knew that lives were in trouble.

San Bernardino Police Department Detective Brian Lewis and San Bernardino Police Department Lieutenant Mike Madden spoke at the news conference telling news reporters what happened that day of terror.

“We didn’t have any cover. We didn’t know where in the building the gunmen were,” said San Bernardino Police Department Detective Brian Lewis.

“We didn’t know exactly how many people were down, but we knew that we needed to get in there and save them. I think we fully expected to take gunfire, which we did not.” said San Bernardino Police Department Lieutenant Mike Madden.

As the group of law enforcement officers and deputies entered the Inland Regional Center, they can see the fear on the faces of the people inside and the cries for help heard from people inside.

“They were asking for help and were asking for first aid,” said San Bernardino County Probation Officer Nathan Scarano.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Detective Jorge Lozano, who helped rescued people out of the Inland Regional Center and was captured on video saying to people in fear that the attackers were still inside the building, “I’ll take a bullet before you do, that’s for damn sure”, spoke at the news conference telling news reporters what happened that day of terror.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Detective Jorge Lozano said that he and his partner heard people screaming for help and can see people hiding between cars in the parking lot and people who had been shot in need of help.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Detective Jorge Lozano explained what happened that day saying, “There was a female there with a small child, maybe an 8-year-old little boy, that was just terrified, just shivering, almost to the point of shaking like a leaf and I said what I said. I meant what I said. I said it for them just to kinda calm down, relax.”

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Detective Jorge Lozano said the words he said to the scared survivors weren’t anything special despite the attention they’ve gotten: “I don’t feel like a hero whatsoever.”

San Bernardino County Probation Officer Nathan Scarano and his partner started loading people into the bed of their trucks and driving them away from the scene, then returning for more.

California Highway Patrol Officer Brian Alvarez said that one of the reasons they all came running is because this is what we train for and this is what we signed up for this.

Speaking about the victims, California Highway Patrol Officer Brian Alvarez said, “They didn’t sign up for this. They were having a holiday party. They were going to work. This is not what they were expecting to encounter that day.”

– NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 is reporting that federal authorities say identified terrorists Syed Farook and Tashfeed Malik both went to shooting ranges prior to the mass murder attack.

“That target practice on one occasion was done within days” of the terror attack, said David Bowdich, Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) in Los Angeles, California.

One of the ranges used by Syed Farook is located in a light industrial park in Riverside, California which is not far from where Syed Farook and Tashfeed Mali lived before moving to Redlands, California last May 2015.

“The only thing I can say is the FBI has already gathered the information on the days he was at the range here,” said John Galletta, identifying himself as a firearms instructor at the Riverside Magnum Range.

According to John Galletta, he did not interact with Farook and did not recall him.

“Just a normal guy is what was relayed to me,” said John Galletta.

According to John Galletta, Syed Farook brought with him the guns he fired at the range, but he could not say if these were the same weapons later used in the attack.

“How are you able to determined somebody’s intents after they leave your place of business? It’s impossible,” said John Galletta.

According to David Bowdich, Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) in Los Angeles, California, the couple, Syed Farook and Tashfeed Mali, had been “radicalized for some time” which investigators have now concluded.

On Friday, December 4th, 2015, authorities concluded the attack was intended as “an act of terrorism”, inspired — though not necessarily directed — from overseas.

Syed Farook and Tashfeed Mali were killed in a shootout with law enforcement after a pursuit and hours after their attack at the Inland Regional Center.

At that shootout location, authorities recovered 2 assault rifles and 2 handguns.

According to the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, a 5th firearm, a rifle, was found later during a search of their rental townhome in Redlands, California.

According to John D’Angelo, Assistant Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms in Los Angeles, California, authorities say that all 5 weapons were legally purchased between 2007 and 2012.

The 2 assault rifles were purchased by Enrique Marquez, a neighbor of Syed Farook in the Riverside, California neighborhood where both grew up.

According to John D’Angelo, Assistant Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms in Los Angeles, California, the circumstances under which Syed Farook obtained the weapons from Enrique Marquez are still under investigation.

– A morning news conference was held on Monday, December 7th, 2015 with doctors and medical workers who all helped in treating the victims of the terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015.

An emergency room doctor who volunteers as an armed physician on a SWAT Team was among the first responders to the terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California.

The emergency room doctor helped to search for hostages then rushed to the scene of a gun battle between authorities and the shooters.

Dr. Michael Neeki, Chief Medical Officer of San Bernardino County’s Probation Department and Volunteer member of the Inland Valley SWAT Team, spoke to the news media during a morning news conference on Monday, December 7th, 2015 talking about leaving his post at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center after receiving a call about an active shooter at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California.

According to Dr. Michael Neeki, it took him about 25 minutes to drive about 6 miles, through traffic, to get to what he referred to as “the hot zone.”

With his bag of medical supplies in tow, Dr. Michael Neeki and his team entered the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California and went room to room in search of people stranded inside.

When his team received word that the shooters were locked in a shootout with authorities nearby, Dr. Michael Neeki rushed to the scene riding a secondary armored vehicle for his protection.

“Being a physician, they don’t want me to get hurt. They are willing to take a bullet for me and I’m willing to take a bullet for them. This is the commitment that I have to this community,” said Dr. Michael Neeki.

According to Dr. Michael Neeki, he fought in the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980’s for 2 years before eventually immigrating to the United States from Iran.

“I’m here because I came for democracy. It’s sad to see that you come miles from across the world and see something like that happen here in a country that respects everybody and gives equal opportunity,” said Dr. Michael Neeki.

Dr. Michael Neeki said he battle experience makes him mentally and tactically a little bit more ready than the other physicians.

“I tried to take all those as a positive experience in my life and move forward,” said Dr. Michael Neeki.

Dr. Michael Neeki arrived to California from Ohio in 2006.

just 3 years later, Dr. Michael Neeki began volunteering with the Rialto Police Department.

Dr. Michael Neeki then joined the Inland Valley SWAT Team in 2012.

According to Dr. Michael Neeki, it took him nearly a year and half to meet California’s regulations to join the SWAT team as its only physician.

Due to budget constraints, Dr. Michael Neeki pays for his own training and some of his equipment.

Some of Dr. Michael Neeki’s gear was donated by the cities of Rialto, California; Fontana, California; and Colton, California which created the 45-member Inland Valley SWAT Team in 2012.

A new photograph of shooters, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, shows the couple arriving in the United States of America in 2014 at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport in Chicago Illinois.

In the government photograph stamped Sunday, July 27th, 2014, both Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik are looking directly at the camera.

Authorities say that Syed Rizwan Farook, a U.S. citizen, traveled to Saudi Arabia in July 2014 and returned with Tashfeen Malik.

The Pakistan-born Tashfeen Malik, who spent much of her life in Saudi Arabia, entered the United States of America on a so-called fiance or K- visa, which allows a soon-to-be spouse to travel to the United States of America for a wedding within 90 days.

Their California marriage license became official in August 2014.

– David Bowdich, Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) in Los Angeles, California, laid out more details during a news conference about the investigation into the terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California.

According to David Bowdich, Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) in Los Angeles, California, the couple in the terrorist attack, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, had been radicalized “for some time” and did target practice before the deadly rampage left 14 dead and injured 21 at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015.

The wide-ranging probe involved interviews with more than 400 people and the collection of over 320 pieces of evidence.

Investigators found evidence Farook and Malik destroyed their mobile phones the day before the shootings.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) is saying that it has evidence that both shooters, identified as 28 year old Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife identified as 27 year old Tashfeen Malik, participated in target practices at ranges across Los Angeles, California.

According to David Bowdich, Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) in Los Angeles, California, both subjects had been radicalized and had been for some time, but it’s unclear how long ago that occurred and by whom.

Agents are  trying to determine whether the attack was part of a broader plot, and if so, who might have financed it.

The news comes as federal authorities are scrutinizing the backgrounds of the assailants in the deadly shooting attacks to determine how they became radicalized and if they received outside funds to finance the deadliest terror strike on American soil since the attacks on 9-11.

A Joint Terrorism Task Force has taken the lead in the investigation.

United States of America President Barack Obama said Sunday night that the attack had been “an act of terrorism designed to kill innocent people.”

– United States of America President Barack Obama spoke to the nation on Sunday, December 6th, 2015 about the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, California, what steps the government is taking to fulfill his highest priority, and how to keep the American people safe.

United States of America President Barack Obama spoke from the Oval Office at the White House in Washington, District of Columbia.

** The following is what United States of America President Barack Obama said to the nation on Sunday, December 6th, 2015: **

“Good evening. On Wednesday, 14 Americans were killed as they came together to celebrate the holidays. They were taken from family and friends who loved them deeply. They were white and black; Latino and Asian; immigrants and American-born; moms and dads; daughters and sons. Each of them served their fellow citizens and all of them were part of our American family.

Tonight, I want to talk with you about this tragedy, the broader threat of terrorism, and how we can keep our country safe.

The FBI is still gathering the facts about what happened in San Bernardino, but here is what we know. The victims were brutally murdered and injured by one of their coworkers and his wife. So far, we have no evidence that the killers were directed by a terrorist organization overseas, or that they were part of a broader conspiracy here at home. But it is clear that the two of them had gone down the dark path of radicalization, embracing a perverted interpretation of Islam that calls for war against America and the West. They had stockpiled assault weapons, ammunition, and pipe bombs. So this was an act of terrorism, designed to kill innocent people.

Our nation has been at war with terrorists since al Qaeda killed nearly 3,000 Americans on 9/11. In the process, we’ve hardened our defenses — from airports to financial centers, to other critical infrastructure. Intelligence and law enforcement agencies have disrupted countless plots here and overseas, and worked around the clock to keep us safe. Our military and counterterrorism professionals have relentlessly pursued terrorist networks overseas — disrupting safe havens in several different countries, killing Osama bin Laden, and decimating al Qaeda’s leadership.

Over the last few years, however, the terrorist threat has evolved into a new phase. As we’ve become better at preventing complex, multifaceted attacks like 9/11, terrorists turned to less complicated acts of violence like the mass shootings that are all too common in our society. It is this type of attack that we saw at Fort Hood in 2009; in Chattanooga earlier this year; and now in San Bernardino. And as groups like ISIL grew stronger amidst the chaos of war in Iraq and then Syria, and as the Internet erases the distance between countries, we see growing efforts by terrorists to poison the minds of people like the Boston Marathon bombers and the San Bernardino killers.

For seven years, I’ve confronted this evolving threat each morning in my intelligence briefing. And since the day I took this office, I’ve authorized U.S. forces to take out terrorists abroad precisely because I know how real the danger is. As Commander-in-Chief, I have no greater responsibility than the security of the American people. As a father to two young daughters who are the most precious part of my life, I know that we see ourselves with friends and coworkers at a holiday party like the one in San Bernardino. I know we see our kids in the faces of the young people killed in Paris. And I know that after so much war, many Americans are asking whether we are confronted by a cancer that has no immediate cure.

Well, here’s what I want you to know: The threat from terrorism is real, but we will overcome it. We will destroy ISIL and any other organization that tries to harm us. Our success won’t depend on tough talk, or abandoning our values, or giving into fear. That’s what groups like ISIL are hoping for. Instead, we will prevail by being strong and smart, resilient and relentless, and by drawing upon every aspect of American power.

Here’s how. First, our military will continue to hunt down terrorist plotters in any country where it is necessary. In Iraq and Syria, airstrikes are taking out ISIL leaders, heavy weapons, oil tankers, infrastructure. And since the attacks in Paris, our closest allies — including France, Germany, and the United Kingdom — have ramped up their contributions to our military campaign, which will help us accelerate our effort to destroy ISIL.

Second, we will continue to provide training and equipment to tens of thousands of Iraqi and Syrian forces fighting ISIL on the ground so that we take away their safe havens. In both countries, we’re deploying Special Operations Forces who can accelerate that offensive. We’ve stepped up this effort since the attacks in Paris, and we’ll continue to invest more in approaches that are working on the ground.

Third, we’re working with friends and allies to stop ISIL’s operations — to disrupt plots, cut off their financing, and prevent them from recruiting more fighters. Since the attacks in Paris, we’ve surged intelligence-sharing with our European allies. We’re working with Turkey to seal its border with Syria. And we are cooperating with Muslim-majority countries — and with our Muslim communities here at home — to counter the vicious ideology that ISIL promotes online.

Fourth, with American leadership, the international community has begun to establish a process — and timeline — to pursue ceasefires and a political resolution to the Syrian war. Doing so will allow the Syrian people and every country, including our allies, but also countries like Russia, to focus on the common goal of destroying ISIL — a group that threatens us all.

This is our strategy to destroy ISIL. It is designed and supported by our military commanders and counterterrorism experts, together with 65 countries that have joined an American-led coalition. And we constantly examine our strategy to determine when additional steps are needed to get the job done. That’s why I’ve ordered the Departments of State and Homeland Security to review the visa program under which the female terrorist in San Bernardino originally came to this country. And that’s why I will urge high-tech and law enforcement leaders to make it harder for terrorists to use technology to escape from justice.

Now, here at home, we have to work together to address the challenge. There are several steps that Congress should take right away.

To begin with, Congress should act to make sure no one on a no-fly list is able to buy a gun. What could possibly be the argument for allowing a terrorist suspect to buy a semi-automatic weapon? This is a matter of national security.

We also need to make it harder for people to buy powerful assault weapons like the ones that were used in San Bernardino. I know there are some who reject any gun safety measures. But the fact is that our intelligence and law enforcement agencies — no matter how effective they are — cannot identify every would-be mass shooter, whether that individual is motivated by ISIL or some other hateful ideology. What we can do — and must do — is make it harder for them to kill.

Next, we should put in place stronger screening for those who come to America without a visa so that we can take a hard look at whether they’ve traveled to warzones. And we’re working with members of both parties in Congress to do exactly that.

Finally, if Congress believes, as I do, that we are at war with ISIL, it should go ahead and vote to authorize the continued use of military force against these terrorists. For over a year, I have ordered our military to take thousands of airstrikes against ISIL targets. I think it’s time for Congress to vote to demonstrate that the American people are united, and committed, to this fight.

My fellow Americans, these are the steps that we can take together to defeat the terrorist threat. Let me now say a word about what we should not do.

We should not be drawn once more into a long and costly ground war in Iraq or Syria. That’s what groups like ISIL want. They know they can’t defeat us on the battlefield. ISIL fighters were part of the insurgency that we faced in Iraq. But they also know that if we occupy foreign lands, they can maintain insurgencies for years, killing thousands of our troops, draining our resources, and using our presence to draw new recruits.

The strategy that we are using now — airstrikes, Special Forces, and working with local forces who are fighting to regain control of their own country — that is how we’ll achieve a more sustainable victory. And it won’t require us sending a new generation of Americans overseas to fight and die for another decade on foreign soil.

Here’s what else we cannot do. We cannot turn against one another by letting this fight be defined as a war between America and Islam. That, too, is what groups like ISIL want. ISIL does not speak for Islam. They are thugs and killers, part of a cult of death, and they account for a tiny fraction of more than a billion Muslims around the world — including millions of patriotic Muslim Americans who reject their hateful ideology. Moreover, the vast majority of terrorist victims around the world are Muslim. If we’re to succeed in defeating terrorism we must enlist Muslim communities as some of our strongest allies, rather than push them away through suspicion and hate.

That does not mean denying the fact that an extremist ideology has spread within some Muslim communities. This is a real problem that Muslims must confront, without excuse. Muslim leaders here and around the globe have to continue working with us to decisively and unequivocally reject the hateful ideology that groups like ISIL and al Qaeda promote; to speak out against not just acts of violence, but also those interpretations of Islam that are incompatible with the values of religious tolerance, mutual respect, and human dignity.

But just as it is the responsibility of Muslims around the world to root out misguided ideas that lead to radicalization, it is the responsibility of all Americans — of every faith — to reject discrimination. It is our responsibility to reject religious tests on who we admit into this country. It’s our responsibility to reject proposals that Muslim Americans should somehow be treated differently. Because when we travel down that road, we lose. That kind of divisiveness, that betrayal of our values plays into the hands of groups like ISIL. Muslim Americans are our friends and our neighbors, our co-workers, our sports heroes — and, yes, they are our men and women in uniform who are willing to die in defense of our country. We have to remember that.
My fellow Americans, I am confident we will succeed in this mission because we are on the right side of history. We were founded upon a belief in human dignity — that no matter who you are, or where you come from, or what you look like, or what religion you practice, you are equal in the eyes of God and equal in the eyes of the law.

Even in this political season, even as we properly debate what steps I and future Presidents must take to keep our country safe, let’s make sure we never forget what makes us exceptional. Let’s not forget that freedom is more powerful than fear; that we have always met challenges — whether war or depression, natural disasters or terrorist attacks — by coming together around our common ideals as one nation, as one people.

So long as we stay true to that tradition, I have no doubt America will prevail.

Thank you. God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America.”

NBC News is reporting that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) searched a home on Saturday, December 5th, 2015 in Riverside, California of Enrique Marquez.

Authorities believe Enrique Marquez originally bought the assault rifles used in the deadly shooting rampage in San Bernardino, California.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) is saying that Enrique Marquez is not considered a suspect in the deadly shooting rampage.

Neighbors who witnessed the search say agents cut open the garage door with blow torches, used bomb-sniffing dogs, and temporarily detained his father and younger brother.

The Enrique Marquez ‘s father told NBC News that he does not know where Enrique Marquez is and declined further comment.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.), the 2 assault weapons were originally bought in 2011 and 2012 by Enrique Marquez, said to be a friend of Syed Rizwan Farook’s, but investigators don’t yet know whether Syed Rizwan Farook gave him the money upfront, or obtained the guns from him later.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) is saying that the warrant was executed overnight following a precautionary tactical entry.

NBC News is reporting that the United States government’s ability to review and analyze at least 5 years’ worth of telephone records for the married couple blamed in the deadly shootings lapsed just 4 days earlier when the National Security Agency’s controversial mass surveillance program was formally shut down.

Under a court order, those historical calling records at the National Security Agency are now off-limits to agents running the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) terrorism investigation even with a warrant.

Instead, under the new USA Freedom Act, authorities were able to obtain roughly 2 years’ worth of calling records directly from the phone companies of the married couple blamed in the attack.

The period covered the entire time that the wife, Tashfeen Malik, lived in the United States, although her husband, Syed Rizwan Farook, had been here much longer.

Tashfeen Malik reportedly moved from Pakistan to the United States of America in July 2014 and married Syed Rizwan Farook the following month.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Director James Comey declined to say to NBC News on Friday, December 4th, 2015 whether the National Security Agency program’s shutdown affected the government’s terrorism investigation in California.

According to Associated Press writer Maamoun Youssef, ISIS’s official radio station on Saturday, December 5th, 2015 aired a statement saying the mass shooting was carried out by 2 “supporters” of the extremist group.

The message’s authenticity was confirmed by NBC News and the statement translated said, We ask God to accept them as martyrs.”

While praising the deadly attack, the group stopped short of claiming responsibility for it.

Law enforcement sources authorities have told NBC News this week that suspect, Tashfeen Malik, posted a pledge of support to an ISIS leader on Facebook at around the time of the attack.

The first law enforcement officer to arrive at the deadly shooting attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California spoke to the news media during a news conference late Thursday night and describes ‘carnage’ and ‘tragedy’.

San Bernardino Police Department Lieutenant Mike Madden, who usually mans a desk as an administrative officer, was on his way to lunch when the calls about gunfire at the Inland Resource Center.

Before he even arrived, San Bernardino Police Department Lieutenant Mike Madden already knew that the worst was true just from the dispatcher’s voice.

“This was actually happening. This was a real event,” said San Bernardino Police Department Lieutenant Mike Madden.

According to San Bernardino Police Department Lieutenant Mike Madden, he and 3 other law enforcement officers made their way to south of the center and then to the east, it was immediately evident the reports we were getting were 100 percent true.

When we entered, there was fresh gunpowder and the smell of fresh gunpowder in the air amid the festive holiday scene that had been set up for 75 or more people, most of them county employees who had gathered for a training session and a holiday luncheon event.

According to San Bernardino Police Department Lieutenant Mike Madden, it was extremely loud with fire alarms and sprinklers roaring over the moans and wails we heard from the wounded was adding to the chaos inside.

As San Bernardino Police Department Lieutenant Mike Madden and his small team advanced, “it was unspeakable, the carnage we were seeing.”

San Bernardino Police Department Lieutenant Mike Madden describe to news reporters the pure panic on the faces of people desperate to be rescued.

“We had to tell them several times, ‘come to us, come to us,’ and they did, and once that person took the first motions forward, it opened the floodgates,” said San Bernardino Police Department Lieutenant Mike Madden.

San Bernardino Police Department Lieutenant Mike Madden is a 24 year veteran and has gone through active-shooter training, but he said, “although we train for it, it’s something you’re never prepared for.

“I did the job that I was supposed to do. People don’t call the police because they’re having a great day. They call the police because there’s a tragedy, and I don’t think I’ve seen tragedy like that before,” said San Bernardino Police Department Lieutenant Mike Madden.

San Bernardino Police Department Lieutenant Mike Madden then spoke about the service law enforcement officers do every day and how something he said is overlooked in controversies over police involved shootings and alleged police brutality.

“We’ve taken a lot of hits lately — some of it justified, some of it not justified — and it takes a toll on you. It’s hard being labeled a rogue cop. … There are cops that go astray, but overwhelmingly the vast majority of officers … do the job to go out and protect the public, and yesterday reminded me of that,” said San Bernardino Police Department Lieutenant Mike Madden.

Many residents, a community, and a nation are sending messages of thanks and support for the law enforcement officers and first responders who came to get the evil shooters and to work to save lives.

According to San Bernardino Police Department Chief Jarrod Burguan, the couple, Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik, was clad in black tactical gear but not bulletproof vests and fired 76 more rifle rounds during a pursuit with police,  told reporters. Law enforcement officers returned about 380 rounds.

Authorities are saying that they are still trying to determine why Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik attacked the Inland Regional Center.

At this moment, at least 14 people are dead and at least 21 people were wounded.

Authorities told NBC News that Syed Farook appeared to have been radicalized and that Syed Farook had been in touch with people in the Los Angeles, California area who have expressed jihadist-oriented views.

Intelligence sources tell NBC News that Syed Farook appeared to have been in some form of communication with people overseas who are persons of interest to United States authorities.

According to Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) David Bowdich, they do not know the motive and that it would be irresponsible of me and be way too early to speculate on motive.

“There was obviously a mission here. We do not know why. We do not know if this was the intended target or something triggered him,” said Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) David Bowdich.

Syed Farook traveled to Saudi Arabia at least twice, in 2013 and 2014, acquaintances and Saudi officials told NBC News.

In 2013, Syed Farook went on Umrah, a pilgrimage to Mecca.

According to Nazeem Ali, who attended Dar-Al-Uloom Al-Islamia mosque in Muscoy, California with Syed Farook, tells NBC News that Syed Farook told him that he planned to meet the fiancée he had met online — Malik — and to get married at the Black Stone in the Grand Mosque of Mecca.

Tashfeen Malik who was of Pakistani background, arrived in the United States on a K-1, or fiancée, visa and attained permanent resident status by virtue of their marriage 2 years ago.

Mustafa Kuko, Director of the Islamic Center of Riverside, another mosque Farook attended for several years, told NBC News that Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik had their wedding reception at the center in 2013.

According to Farhan Khan, Syed Farook’s brother-in-law, in May 2015, Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik had a baby, whom they left the 6 month old child with Syed Farook’s mother, claiming that they had a doctor’s appointment.
Syed Farook was a health inspector for the County of San Bernardino County and initially attended the office Christmas banquet that morning of Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015, but he left about 15 to 30 minutes before the shooting began around 11:00am PT.

Authorities received information by someone who was concerned about his behavior at the event and later received information about the home of Syed Farook which when authorities arrived, a police pursuit began leading later to a shootout with authorities along the 1700 San Bernardino Avenue, near Sheden Drive, in San Bernardino, California.

Both of the shooters were shot and killed after the shootout with authorities.

According to San Bernardino Police Department Chief Jarrod Burguan, Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik had 2 assault rifles and 2 semiautomatic handguns that were legally purchased and registered. In total, the pair carried more than 1,400 .223 caliber rounds and 200 more 9mm rounds during the gunbattle.

The 3 pipe bombs found at the Inland Regional Center were stitched together on a remote-controlled car, but for whatever reason, it didn’t explode.

According to San Bernardino Police Department Chief Jarrod Burguan, a search of a home connected with the couple turned up 12 pipe-bomb-type devices and a cache of ammunition, including 2,000 9mm rounds, 2,500 .233 caliber rounds and several hundred .22 Long Rifle rounds.

The victims names and pictures are said to be released later on Thursday.
